I would say from a potential standpoint, this might be one of the deepest lists of prospects we gathered from Rocori High School this week. Some of these young men have a great skillset physically, and some of these young men have a lot of potential for big seasons and beyond from what I witnessed at Rocori High School on Wednesday. Enjoy!
Will White, LB, Sauk Rapids-Rice (2022) | Twitter
Will was a prospect that could have gone on either day’s list of standouts but from my eyes looked at his best on Wednesday afternoon. I really liked his launch ability when watching his early drills at linebacker. He also was one of the better put-together linebackers from this group, checking at around 200 pounds.
When I watched Will’s tape, I saw that launch ability in full force by play #2 from his junior tape. He knocks ball carriers around with such a physical presence as it was a skill set you could see he had even watching non-contact drills on Wednesday. He creeps really well beyond that first level to go make a play on the ball. This kid shows a good pad level on nearly every play I have watched on tape, which is why he gets such good contact on every ball carrier he knocks around. Will certainly needs to be on more college program’s radars after watching him this week and watching his tape.
Zach Harris, DL, Rocori (2022)
Zach showed off his presence in the early drills from Wednesday afternoon, looking like a tough prospect for other players to move out of position. From what I watched, he got a strong push off the line and had an excellent stance when working in the trenches. In addition, when he was running thru this one particular drill, he showed outstanding balance when turning to go for the football in this one specific drill.
Harris does not have any tape available and will need to depend on a solid senior season to raise some eyes from some of the small school football programs.
Gabe Shanhoff, LB, Little Falls (2024)
Gabe showed to be one of the most impressive prospects in the 2024 Class from Wednesday’s session at Rocori. The Little Falls prospect showed off a strong explosion from the start of the early drills and also was able to get a strong launch from his knees from some of the other drills I witnessed with a good contact level. I thought from an overall perspective watching Gabe that this young man was in tune with a solid athletic ability.
Shanhoff is well under the radar for the Flyers but should be a name to know over the next coming years in Little Falls.
Luke Gunnerson, DL, Rocori, (2023)
Gunnerson, on day three, looked to be one of the hardest-working kids I witnessed from the DL group on Wednesday afternoon. He showed a solid stance from the start and had really active footwork that just performed at a strong level. In addition, he showed a massive motor from all aspects I watched of his game and had a well-put-together frame to go along with it.
Gunnerson is another one that does not have any tape available as of yet, but I’m excited to see what he brings to the table for the Spartans in his junior season, as I was very intrigued by his Wednesday performance at Rocori.
Austin Neu, WR/DB, Little Falls (2022)
Although this was a defensive camp, Little Falls’s Austin Neu looked to be an impressive prospect on the offensive side of the ball from what I witnessed in 7on7 drills towards the end of the Wednesday session. Neu showed some nice flair in his footwork and was a very efficient pass-catcher within 10-15 yards has had the speed and footwork to isolate himself from the coverage.
When I watched Austin’s junior tape, you can see how elusive he is athletically gifted he is which would translate well to being a WR at the college level. He is an athlete that plays QB for the Flyers as he’s more than likely their #1 athlete on their roster. Austin is a QB that is not afraid to evade the pocket with his athletic ability to gain yards on the ground. The biggest strength of Neu’s game is his ability to use his active footwork to shay away from defenders going after him at quarterback. From what I see on film, he’s a player that gets heavily pressured but does good work finding ways to gain quality yards despite that pressure. When he’s throwing the football, I really like his precision on the ball as he gives his wide receivers a solid cushion to throw the ball into, which benefits the WR for the longer routes. I certainly think Neu has the skill set to play at the college level from what I watched on film and in person.
Grayson Hoeschen, LB, Rocori (2023)
Grayson was a prospect that really showed an impressive reach with good length at the linebacker position. Another up-and-coming linebacker for the Spartans that should see more reps in the 2021 season. No tape available yet!
Ebrima Camara, DL, Crosby-Ironton (2024)
Ebrima was one of the more raw prospects that caught my radar from Wednesday at Rocori. Ebrima is just a freshman but was a player with soft yet powerful hands when making contact on the defenders he went up against in 1on1s. I also thought Ebrima showed a good shedding ability for his age. Ebrima is a work in progress but has a solid skillset that should take him to a higher level in the coming years, along with having a sound frame already in his young career.
