On this playoff run, they beat teams such as Windsor Forest, Academy of Richmond County, and Cedar Grove. Unfortunately after this game, their luck fell short, as they lost to Pierce County 25-13. Because they had so much success in 2020, and were able to build on top of previous success
Marquise Palmer Marquise Palmer 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Crisp County | 2022 State GA – RB
One of our favorite traits that Palmer displays when running the football is his ability to change direction on a dime, and to be able to use his vision to help him adjust to any failed blocks on the offensive line. His quick feet, and sudden burst allows him to take off when he sees a crease, and the power that he runs with behind his pads helps him to be able to break tackles along the way. Palmer also runs with a good balance, and his solid frame and build helps him to withstand a large amount of contact as he runs in between the tackles with strong legs. His ability to turn the corner also assists him in being able to make big plays at times as well. Next season, look for him to continue to shoulder some of the offensive burden, and to make big plays for his team.
Eric Ivory- DB
Not only does Ivory use his length and frame to his advantage, but he also uses his speed and twitch to be able to shake opposing players if he is able to cause turnovers and get the ball in his hands. Ivory also plays with a physical attitude, and this can be seen by the way he comes downhill to make tackles, and plays on ball carriers. While he plays, he is not scared to get his hands dirty, and to rip off of blocks and grab cloth. Along with this, his burst allows him to jump passes, and his ball skills assist in his ability to be a natural, and fluid football player. Even though he is fluid a large portion of times, we would like to see him work on his lateral movement skills, and the way he gets out of his breaks and changes direction. If he can manage to improve in these areas, he will likely see a jump in his production in 2021.
David Mitchell- K / P
Even though most football fans may not consider him a top returner due to the fact that he is a Kicker, we feel that he will be one of the most consistent players that will be returning for his team next year. He does a good job of getting a decent arc on the ball, and he manages to score points from multiple spots on the field. This includes the middle of the field, as well as near the hash. Mitchell also gets the ball up quickly, which is a big part of scoring extra points, and racking up field goals. His reliability when kicking the ball off is also huge, as it helps the team to be positioned well on defense to start series. As a punter, he also does a decent job of getting the ball up, and pinning the opposing team deep into their own territory. Next season, we would like to see him continue to be successful in each of these areas, as it will likely help his team a large amount.
Trae Walker- CB
While we enjoy watching Trae Walker play, we also admit that he is a bit of a project at the DB position. Even though he is physical, and has some quickness to him, he is a bit raw in his movement skills, as he is inconsistent in and out of his breaks. In coverage, he does a decent job of turning and running, but he struggles to flip his hips consistently and change gears with his speed. Walker does a decent job of being physical though, because he takes decent angles, and uses his leverage to his ability when making tackles on ball carriers. If he can continue to expand upon these things, and work on his movement skills, he will see a jump in production next season.
