As we continue to evaluate film, if you have anyone you think we need to see, please DM the prospect’s hudl tape to @lemmingscouting on Twitter. Without further ado, here’s who stood out!
WR: Luke Floyd, 6’1, 170, Daviess County
A natural deep-ball tracker with soft hands and exceptional body control. Luke is a high effort blocker who consistently goes the extra mile, looking to put defenders into the turf. He’s shown good wiggle after the catch in quick game concepts and is rarely brought down by the first tackle attempt. He has an uncanny ability for getting behind coverage and can make you pay if you don’t reroute him when running up the seam.
DB: JT Haskins, 6′, 160, Bryan Station
A true center field type safety that takes great angles to the football and is a sure tackler in space. Despite being just a freshman, he’s already displayed plenty of physicality and the willingness to stick his nose in between the tackles. Haskins does a good job trusting his eyes and is rarely fooled by opposing quarterbacks. His footwork is clean, helping him to easily get out of breaks and accelerate towards opposing targets.
ATH: Gavin Chadwell, 6’4, 230, Knox Central
When you watch Chadwell on tape, you’ll see a raw freshman with plenty of athletic ability and a very high ceiling. As a defensive lineman, he does a good job keeping his shoulders square to the line of scrimmage when he’s unblocked and can fight off single blocks on the inside. He’s a strong pass rusher that plays with great knee bend and can chase down quarterbacks from the backside. Right now, he plays as a head-up 4-technique in a 3 down front, but I think as he continues to grow and add size, he’ll likely develop into a true 5-technique in college.
ATH: Franklin West, 6’3, 285, Corbin
West realistically has a future on either side of the ball. On the offensive side, he’s a tackle right now but projects as a guard in college. He has the toughness, feet, and overlying strength to be a good one as well. His lower half helps him generate plenty of power to move just about any defensive lineman off the ball. On the defensive side, you’re looking at an athletic big man with a great first step. He’s got a filthy condensed swim move that he will use on overly aggressive offensive linemen.
