With a coaching change always comes apprehension about the future, but since spring began, it has always been about hard work and not derailing what many of these young men had worked so hard for.
With only five games played during the pandemic season, the objective has been trying to get these prospects in front of college coaches – and of course – showcase the talent the Lancers have.
It has indeed been an off-season of change, and by the time thing get going in the late summer, many of the seniors (2022) will be even more mature than they are now.
What the coaching staff will be looking for out of this senior group is leadership and experience. With prospects such as Bradley Cesar (WR/CB, 6-2, 160 – 3.27 GPA, 920 SAT), Briant Heriscar (WR/CB, 6-0, 157), Donald Lockett Jr. (OL/DL, 6-0, 290 – 2.77 GPA), Edgardo Pascal (LB, 5-8, 195 – 2.6 GPA), Gilberto Rodriguez (OL/LB, 5-10, 207 – 2.87 GPA) and Javid Gayle Jr. (WR/CB, 6-1, 174 – 2.94 GPA, 830 SAT) leading the way.
In addition, Lukens Marcelin (OL/DL, 6-0, 287 – 2.79 GPA), Luther Pierrevil (WR/S, 5-10, 159 – 2.51 GPA), Romario Ormsby (OL/DL, 6-3, 280), Santiago Guaramata Santiago Guaramata OL Greenacres John I. UNDERCLASSMEN HAVE THEIR ROLE
Obviously, depth is always an issue when building a program, and the Lancers will be looking to this junior (2023) class for talent and a spark in 2021.
Players such as Charvison Joseph (RB/OLB, 5-10, 176 – 3.0 GPA), Chris Espinal (CB, 5-8, 144 – 2.65 GPA), Glawinson Resignac (WR/FS, 5-10, 160 – 4.0 GPA), Headley Isnadin (WR/FS, 6-3, 185 – 2.85 GPA) and quality player Jahmal Covington (FB/DT, 6-4, 325 – 2.68 GPA) have all looked very promising.
The Lancers are also looking for more out of quarterback Jahtavious Gayle Jahtavious Gayle 6'3" | 150 lbs | QB Greenacres John I. The sophomore group will also be needed – as 2024 prospects Anthony Figueredo (OT/DT, 6-2, 285), Anthony Gleason (OC, 5-11, 225 – 3.41 GPA), Dillon Bowen (OC, 5-10, 230 – 2.87 GPA), Jordan Souther (WR, 5-10, 150 – 3.5 GPA), Kenny Eustache (LB, 5-8, 171 – 2.5 GPA), Lael Maxi (TE/DE, 6-0, 230 – 3.6 GPA) and receivers Rogerbert Privat (5-4, 132) are all anxious.
With several young players on this team, this will continue to be a very busy summer. One that plenty of teaching and conditioning will take center stage.
