Jack Capaldi Jack Capaldi 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Malvern Prep | 2022 State PA | 6’2, 205lbs | Malvern Prep | Ranking: 26/2
Two-year contributor at Malvern Prep. Rivals and Elite11 Regional camp invitee. Withholding offer from the University of Pennsylvania. Holding a 4.15 GPA with a 1330 SAT score. Suitable height for the position, good for his age. The frame is beginning to build. Really like where he is adding additional weight. Capaldi’s filling out his pads in preparation for his heaviest workload yet. Leads a spread offense. Has a high and tight release that adds to his 6’2 height. Outstanding 3-5 step drop back, where he keeps his pad level low, ball tucked away high, and ready to release. Eyes stay downfield. Shows he is capable of climbing the pocket and deliver deep balls with accuracy. Tough player whose willing to stay in the pocket and get hit while maintaining accuracy. Capaldi is ahead of the curve in so many areas. Mechanically sound, feet are aligned with eyes, decision-making and timing are exactly where you want it to be. Production is the only area of his game that can be questioned. Waiting his turn behind talented players as well COVID shortening seasons, he should be given the benefit of the doubt. Expecting a stellar season for Capaldi and Malvern Prep.
Lamir Kitchens Lamir Kitchens 5'11" | QB Martin Luther King | 2022 PA | 5’11 | Martin Luther King | Ranking: 111/9
Three-year contributor at Mastery Charter and MLK. Named 1st-Team All-PPL Quarterback by PrepRedzone. Multiple PPL accolades, including PPL MVP. Currently holding no offers according to his Twitter. Frail body frame, can be deemed undersized by both his height and weight. Maybe the main obstacle holding Kitchens back from next-level recruitment. Incredible production nonetheless. Incredible athleticism. True dual-threat quarterback who can beat you with either his legs or his arm. Elusive in the pocket and in the open field. Kitchens is one of the premier playmakers the PPL has to offer. His footwork needs a lot of tuning, as does his ball placement when getting into his drop back. Way too lax in these areas, understandable when you’re this athletic. College coaches don’t want to hear that. Want to reiterate, Kitchens has some serious arm talent, so much so that if harnessed and controlled, he could earn himself some serious DI attention. Kitchens is capable of making some serious wow-throws downfield and on the run. These flashes of special throws, combined with his overt athleticism are what helped Kitchens debut as a top ten player at his position.
Malik Shannon Malik Shannon 6'4" | 220 lbs | ATH Imani Christian | 2022 State PA | 6’4 220 | Imani Christian | Ranking: 131/13
Multi-positional contributor for Imani Christian. QB tag, in reality, an ATH tag. 1st-Team All-Conference WR is currently holding four offers, three of which from D1 programs including Akron and Toledo. Incredible size and weight combination that he uses to dominate at reps at WR and SS. Looks to be able to lose 5-10 pounds to chisel out his frame. Exclusively used as an ATH when behind center. Film study shows Shannon doesn’t project as a quarterback at the next level. We will do our part to change his designation to ATH or WR. This kid is a special talent at WR. He’s the prototypical big target wideout who can snatch balls out of the air. Look for his name more and more on this site.
Isaiah Freeman Isaiah Freeman 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Chester | 2022 State PA | 6’3 195 | Chester | Ranking: 164/16
Accolades for the junior are plentiful. Led Chester to a Spring championship while earning a 1st-Team All-Conference spot by PrepRedzone. Threw the ball well at the NextGen regional camp, where he earned MVP honors. Junior not holding any offers according to his Twitter. Managed a 3.8 GPA. Hudl shows just one year of Quarterback play, also a basketball player at Chester. Big-bodied kid whose weight is a plus, can absorb contact with his frame that may be the best on the list so far. Good height standing in the pocket. Overly wide base when delivering. Long process getting rid of the football at times. The process of release may be slow but mechanically tight. Can move his launch point in the pocket to deliver throws without pressure. Good awareness in the pocket. Accurate on the move, showed some special throws on the run. Adept at making awkward angle throws, bodes well when projecting how he could handle pressure at the next level. Wouldn’t consider him a dual-threat athlete but the possibility for Freeman to take off and get extra yardage is high, especially with how often Chester has him on the move. That big body is useful in the red zone. Solid deep ball, expected more but still good enough to get the job done.
Austin Jones Jr. | 6’0 190 | Sto-Rox | Ranking: 184/20
One year’s worth of film for the three-sport athlete (track, baseball). Accolades hard to come by, as are offers. Talented player who could use extra exposure. Used in a myriad of ways by Sto-Rox. Varied plays, all the way from 80+ yard read/option runs taken to the house to 50+ yard throws for touchdowns. Highly productive player who may be the best athlete in this piece. Looks smaller than his listed height/weight suggests. Electric player. Distributes the ball on time and as the offense asks. Accurate on slant routes inside the red zone. Also an immediate red zone threat with how adept he is at making the correct read of the defensive end on zone/read plays. Good stride, takes some time to get going out of the gate but can do damage with a full head of steam. Sto-Rox has a number of weapons, Jones Jr. does a good job distributing the ball where he needs to. He’s a complementary player to a team with multiple weapons. His deep ball accuracy is a plus. As is his footwork when incorporating play-action throws. Slight hitch when going deep but a ton of throws in rhythm without a hitch. Would love to see more routes thrown. Good elusiveness in the pocket. Good awareness. Most juniors need to clean up their mechanical issues, Jones Jr. is no different.
