Northwestern coach Page Wofford told Prep Redzone SC that the team is focused on “daily improvement while preparing for the 2021 season.”
The Trojans return most of their offensive stars from the 2020 season which includes a core of senior skill players beginning with quarterback Will Mattison Will Mattison 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Northwestern | 2022 State SC and a trio of wide receivers Christian Watkins Christian Watkins 5'7" | 145 lbs | WR Northwestern | 2022 State SC , Calique Cunningham Calique Cunningham 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Northwestern | 2022 State SC and Elijah Caldwell Elijah Caldwell 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Northwestern | 2023 State SC -Peele. One of the top offensive linemen in our PRZ Class of 2023 rankings returns in Jordan Knox Jordan Knox 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Northwestern | 2023 State SC . Marcus Macon and Riley Macon will also anchor the offensive line.
The front seven will also be strong for the Trojans on defense led by returning starters on the line in defensive end Isaac McClellan and lineman Will Monroe. Tay McCrorey and Michael McMullen Michael McMullen 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Northwestern | 2022 SC will anchor things in the secondary. Northwestern is in good hands on special teams as NC State commit Kanoah Vinesett Kanoah Vinesett 6'0" | 185 lbs | K Northwestern | 2022 State SC returns.

Northwestern has a challenging slate of non-region games which includes a trip down I-85 to face Greenville before region play begins against Ridge View to begin the month of October. With the talent core that is returning, we expect them to make another run towards Williams-Brice this December.
