The Class of 2022 defensive end (edge rusher) has been busy getting in front of every coach at every school and just about every event that has been held.
This impressive Daytona Beach Seabreeze standout has been non-stop since transferring from Flagler Palm Coast, where he was one of the top prospects.
Last Saturday, West-Pirtle’s latest stop was at Torrian Wilson’s Crafting Lineman event at Ives Park in Miami.
Like he has all summer – at college camps all over the state and Atlantic Seaboard, this 6-3, 210-pound edge rusher put on a show and was awarded as the Top Defensive End prospect at the camp.
While winning awards are nice, what the past few months have been all about is continue to get himself out there – so coaches and recruiting analysts can promote what he continues to do.
With the summer quickly wrapping up, the attention will be with his new team, and because of Covid and this ongoing pandemic, college coaches have been slow to fill rosters – much because of the transfer portal and the seniors coming back for another year.
BREAKING HIS GAME DOWN: What West-Pirtle brings to the game is quickness off the ball and the ability to chase plays down. He often wins the fastest man competition in his division because he is so athletic and quick. This is someone who will make the move anywhere a program needs him to be – and that will end up being the difference in where he lands at the next level.
CRAFTING LINEMEN PRODUCES SOME QUALITY TALENT
In addition to West-Pirtle, Coach Wilson and his staff saw some impressive talent on Saturday night – and that exposure was more than welcome.
Jayden Haynes, DE, Miami Dr. Krop. Here is one of the prospects who simply turned heads no matter where he went this off-season. This is someone everyone will need to watch in 2021.
Joe Lentine, OL, Fort Myers Bishop Verot. Yet another quality line prospect who came and was impressive. Tremendous strength and a solid work ethic will keep this quality talent right in the mix.
Ryan Mikow, OL, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. The Class of 2023 standout got some immediate attention when he came over to play for the Raiders from Calvary Christian. He is 6-6, 300!
Arian Sans, OL, Southwest Miami. The No. 2 rated 3A heavyweight wrestler in Florida a year ago, his work on the football field has been overlooked. Very strong and amazing balance.
Nicholas Serrano, OL, Miami Monsignor Pace. Just a sophomore, this is going to be someone very special as he moves over to play for the Spartans this season, Will be hard to find someone who will outwork this young man.
Blake Steen, OL, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. Another under-the-radar prospect who will certainly get plenty of attention this year. Has the size and strength to matchup with anyone.
Julius Weaver, DL, Miami Dr. Krop. Another two-sport (wrestling) standout who brings everything to the table with him. Very strong and technically sound. Took home the interior defensive line MVP at the event.
