Two of the players listed below are among the top defensive linemen in the state, while the others are prototype edge rushing backers who have been raising their stock value. Regardless of where these players lineup, causing backfield disruption is what they are all about.
Jareb Ramos Jareb Ramos 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL Arapahoe | 2022 State CO | Arapahoe | 6’4”, 260lbs | DE
Ramos is the second-ranked defensive lineman in the state according to Prep Redzone CO. He is a powerful and explosive player with impeccable techniques and elite skills. Over the course of the past few months, Ramos’ recruitment has been seeing a ton of movement with the addition of a few more D-I offers.

La’ulu has been nothing less than impressive this offseason, landing the third-ranked defensive linemen spot on PRZ CO’s rankings list. His versatility allows for him to line up and dominate as a nose, three-tech, and an end. La’ulu’s level of offers have been rising alongside his stock, making him a must-watch player this fall.
Layton Wright Layton Wright 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL Palmer Ridge | 2022 State CO | Palmer Ridge | 6’3”, 252lbs | DE
Wright is a strong player with great awareness and the versatility to play as an end and a three-tech. The power that he possesses is exactly what is needed to play on the defensive line. His patience and awareness makes it tough to get a run game going against his side. Wright has been putting in offseason work and competing against some of the top athletes in the state, making him a player worth watching out for this season.
Mason Harris Mason Harris 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Eaglecrest | 2022 State CO | Eaglecrest | 6’2”, 215lbs | DE/OLB
Harris, PRZ CO’s ninth-ranked 2022 linebacker, is a hybrid player who can come off the edge as an end or drop into coverage as a backer. He has explosive hands and great awareness, which allow for him to disengage from blocks quickly and make contact with the ball carrier. Harris’ hard work on and off of the field has started to draw serious attention from college coaches.
Reed Henkel Reed Henkel 6'1" | 220 lbs | DL Arvada West | 2022 State CO | Arvada West | 6’1”, 220lbs | DE/OLB
Henkel is an under-the-radar type of player who brings speed off of the edge. His size provides a quick and agile pass rush with the speed needed to chase down a scrambling quarterback or pick up a halfback going out for a swing pass. Henkel has started to pop up on the recruiting radar with an offer from Chadron State.
