Fremont is coming off of an up and down 2020 campaign where they finished 5-6. They started off the season with a win against Clay and a loss to Findlay at home. They then ripped off of a few wins before stuttering down the stretch before losing to Sandusky in the playoff round.
Fremont is heading into the season heading into his ninth season with the Little Giants. He’s someone the team believes in because of the way he carries himself. He’s got a long list of experience and over the years has shown his value with the Little Giants.
Fremont is bringing in potentially 7 new starters including at the QB position. They will be a young team to start but the experience will come quick. Luckily for Fremont, and whoever the QB is, they are anchored by 3-star OT recruit Ethan Green Ethan Green 6'7" | 290 lbs | OL Fremont Ross | 2022 OH . Green is 6’7″ and 255 lbs. He’s a big man and plays on the outside with his finesse. Green is signed and committed to Cincinnati after the season but he’s still hoping to have a huge season.
Despite their season finish the Little Giants offense last year was absolutely humming. They averaged 35 ppg and were consistently scoring that weekly. The issue was, they struggled with adjusting on the defensive side where they struggled to replace Akron signee Nicholas Maye. They gave up 28 ppg and in some of their worst games, they couldn’t stop a nosebleed.
All of that being said, Fremont is optimistic. They have a bunch of good young pieces that will continue to grow and help the team win some games. They have the coach they trust and their anchor up front. Look for Fremont to push for the division title if they stay healthy.
