Pickerington North has an exciting 2024 WR-QB combo in Jaiden Vital and Landon O’Connell. At 6’2 185 Jaiden Vital already has very good size for a high school WR. His combination of speed/athleticism and his aforementioned size allows him to get open vertically. Once he gets deep he does a great job of tracking and high pointing the ball making him a tough cover deep. He’s going to one to watch moving forward. Oconnell, the one throwing the passes to Vital is one of the best young QB’s in Ohio’s 2024 class. Oconnell is a pro-style qb who stands 6’4 190 pounds. He’s a good enough athlete to maneuver the pocket and get out and run a little if needed. His big arm is where his bread will be buttered though. Landon has good arm talent as he has plus arm strength and good accuracy. The combo of his size and arm are going to make him very attractive to college coaches as he continues to develop. Landon currently holds an offer from Bowling Green.
DB Cameron Frazier 5’11 160 (KIPP HS/ Columbus)- Frazier plays both WR and DB at KIPP, but I like him a little more right now as a defensive back. He has great instincts at the cornerback position for a Sophomore to be. In his Freshman film you see Frazier run the wide receivers routes at times. He has great awareness, but when he does get beat he flashes great recovery speed. When he gets the ball in his hands he’s a problem for opposing teams. I really believe that Frazier has a chance to be a really special player.
DE Andrew Hanchuck 6’5 220 (Berea-Midpark HS)- Watching Hanchuck compete in 1 v 1’s there’s so much to like. First is his length, at 6’5 with long arms he is able to keep separation between him and the offensive linemen. His get-off and hands are where he’s going to excel, until he gets stronger and can overpower his opponents. He has good bend and does a good job of dipping his shoulder and turning the corner. He’s going to be a fun one to watch develop as he has a very high ceiling.
ATH TJ Engleman 5’8 160 (Princeton HS)- One word describes TJ Engleman, and that’s ELECTRIC. Anytime Engleman gets the ball in his hands he’s a threat to take it the distance. He has the suddeness to make guys miss in the open field and he has the speed to pull away. It will be interesting to see how Engleman grows and fills out. He already has offers from Akron and Buffalo. He’s going to be adding many other offers to that list before all is said and done.
