Oscar Smith (Chesapeake) QB Ethan Vasko Ethan Vasko 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Oscar Smith | 2022 State VA
Previous Rank: 43- Projected Ranking: Top 20
When our 2022 Rankings came out, Vasko was preparing for a state title game. Since then, Vasko has brought a title back to Oscar Smith, gained offers, and just recently committed to staying home and playing for Rick Rahne’s Old Dominion Monarchs.
I’ve said it before but Vasko is an elite QB, with a body like Cam Newton, and moves like Johnny Manziel, and the accuracy of a top-flight QB, Vasko is the most complete Oscar Smith QB in years and may very well be the best QB Oscar Smith coach Chris Scott has ever had. Vasko’s state title game stats were crazy also.
Apologies for not tweeting out stats from Oscar Smith. Had to travel right to Baltimore.
Vasko: 192yds, 3 TD, 168yds rush, 3 TD
King: 103yds, 2 TD 1-1 passing, 10yds
Kole Jones: 4 rec, 65yds, 2 TD, int
Tae'ron Richardson: 2 int,2 rec, 25yds, 7yds rush
Total offense: 677 yards— Reese Becker 👑 (@ReeseBecker) May 2, 2021
Stone Bridge (Ashburn) OL Carter Sweazie Carter Sweazie 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Stone Bridge | 2022 State VA
Previous Rank: 55- Projected Ranking: Top 25
Sweazie killed the camp circuit and picked up a good handful of offers before committing to FCS power James Madison a few weeks ago. A newly minted state champ and 1st team All-Region selection, Sweazie was extremely impressive when I saw him in camps and I had him pegged as an upper- FCS/ Group of Five commit. Sweazie picked up offers from FIU, Army, Richmond, Navy, and a host of others before committing.

Forest Park (Woodbridge) DE Gilbert Tongrongou Gilbert Tongrongou 6'4" | 250 lbs | DL Forest Park | 2022 State VA
Previous Rank: 62- Projected Ranking: Top 30
I was high on Tongrongou before he picked up offers and just knew he would be a hit once more film came out and I was on the money. Now committed to Boston College, Tongrongou picked up a ton of FBS offers just in the first six months of the year.
With offers from UVA, Virginia Tech, UConn, Oregon, Coastal Carolina, UMass, West Virginia, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, and ODU, Tongrongou had his pick after having a stellar season and an amazing camp season.

Oscar Smith (Chesapeake) DL Caleb Jones Caleb Jones 6'1" | 310 lbs | DL Oscar Smith | 2022 State VA
Previous Rank: 93- Projected Ranking: Top 50
Jones was in my opinion the unsung hero of Oscar Smith’s state championship team. In a shortened season, Jones picked up 12 sacks, all while dealing with some hefty off-field stuff as he lost two key members of his family in his father and his grandmother passed during the season. While Jones might not have the huge offers other players do, he does have an FBS offer from Southern Miss and FCS offers from Campbell, Dartmouth, and Morgan State. With a 4.0 GPA, Jones could go the Ivy route and get an academic scholarship.

Life Christian (Richmond) ATH Jamil Anderson Jamil Anderson 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Life Christian Academy | 2022 State VA
Previous Rank: 73- Projected Ranking: Top 50
Anderson has four total offers so far, with Army, Navy, Liberty, and ODU all in on Anderson so far. At 5’11″ and 185lbs, Anderson could play in the slot or showcase his coverage skills, the latter of which I would bet on.
Anderson has gained a lot of attention this offseason. Personally, I think he would fit well with what the new staff at ODU wants to do, but you can’t ignore the upside of the service academies.
