These are young athletes who got their first season of high school football under their belts and will be names to keep an eye on as they continue to develop and hone their craft. With that being said, let’s take a first look at the 24’ LBs & DBs.
Domenic Beres Domenic Beres 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB St. Francis | 2024 IL St Francis Twitter
Mr. Beres is from St Francis, he played on Varsity this past spring as a Freshman this past spring and was a sight to see. He stands at 5’10 190 and plays like a seasoned upperclassman with the way he reads defenses and attacks the ball carrier. What I like most about Mr. Beres’ game is his aggressiveness and how he attacks each play, to have that as a Freshman is very impressive let alone being the starting LB on a VERY talented St Francis Spartans team. Mr. Beres is here to stay and ready to shine this fall, I look forward to seeing him compete and I expect his college interest to pick up once the fall season is concluded.
Ryder Miller Ryder Miller 5'11" | 180 lbs | LB Ottawa | 2024 IL Ottawa Township Twitter
Mr. Miller is from Ottawa Township, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is his ability to stop the run by filling holes in run support and making open-field tackles. Standing at 5’11 175 he got his feet wet against the Varsity competition and showed glimpses of what’s to come in the following seasons. He still has room to develop further and hone his craft, keep an eye on how he produces with a full fall season.
Maddux Randall Maddux Randall 6'0" | 175 lbs | LB Mt. Vernon | 2024 IL Mt. Vernon Township Twitter
Mr. Randall is from Mt Vernon Township, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is his quickness off the ball which allows him to stop the run and cover the sideline quickly. He showed glimpses of his speed and his potential this past spring, the real test comes playing a full fall season in a few months. As we await the start of the season keep an eye on this young man as he has untapped potential yet to come to light.
Riley Sprindis Riley Sprindis 5'9" | 190 lbs | LB St. Charles North | 2024 IL St. Charles North Twitter
Mr. Sprindis is from St Charles North, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. There isn’t any game film on this young man but there is film of him at different college camps from this summer camp circuit. What I’m interested to see is how his performance at those camps translate into the fall season when the pads get put on as he showed glimpses of his skillset during the different positional drills.
Austin Alexander Austin Alexander 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Marian Catholic | 2024 State IL Marian Catholic Twitter
Mr. Alexander is from Marian Catholic, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is his attacking playstyle on the JV level which comes to light when he sheds blocks to make the open-field tackle. Now again, this is at the JV level so we still have yet to see how his skillset transitions against Varsity competition. Standing at 6’0 150 he has room to devleop further and hone his craft, as he does so keep an eye on this young man as he’s showed glimpses of what’s to come.
These are the young men that are getting their first look at the rankings. They put in the hard work, developed their craft, and showcased what they can do during the spring season as well as at showcases/camps. This list is bound to expand as we journey on the 24’s high school careers and will continue to grow as we finish each season.
