Continue ReadingI am very happy to announce that it’s Preseason All-State time. After only pumping out Preseason teams for Class 6A, 5A, and 4A last summer, I have been continuously bothered that I didn’t finish every division in the state and was dead set on making sure I watched film on every single program in Minnesota this time around. To kick things off in 2021 I wanted to start with the underappreciated and overlooked 9man players and teams, and I am very excited about the squad PrepRedzoneMN has put together below. However, before we get started I just wanted to clear a couple of things up for our readers regarding the selections of the Preseason All-State members. The team is mostly based on the film I could find on Hudl or Youtube, so although I wish every player I came across has game film the reality is that a lot of players (particularly in small towns) don’t regularly update their tape or Hudl accounts, so there is a chance that I missed some really good players. The fact that I use Hudl so much also puts 9man programs at somewhat of a disadvantage here, as having your high school team use Hudl costs a lot more money than it should, and not every school can afford it. This isn’t just a 9man issue, but with those programs having smaller roster sizes I found a lot more schools than usual that didn’t use Hudl and thus had no film of its players available. For that reason, if you know of a player who you think should be mentioned here that doesn’t have any film available please email me at oliver@prepredzone.com! Now, after watching hours of tape from over 60 programs in the state I am happy to bring to you our 2021 Preseason All-State Team for the 9man division of Minnesota. Please enjoy!
