These are young athletes who got their first season of high school football under their belts and will be names to keep an eye on as they continue to develop and hone their craft. With that being said, let’s take a look at the young men that made an impact this spring season and are ready to make a name for themselves once the fall season starts.
Noah Pfafflin Noah Pfafflin 6'2" | 185 lbs | LB Lyons Township | 2024 State IL WR Lyons Township Twitter
Mr. Pfafflin is from Lyons Township, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he balled out. He stands at 6’2 175 using every inch of his frame to go up to get the ball. What I like most about this young man is how he’s able to adjust to the ball last second to secure the catch with the defender draped all over him. His first minute of highlight clips are of him making such catches on the Varsity level which is impressive. Mr. Pfafflin also has made rounds during the summer camp circuit heading out to Northwestern University, The University of Tennessee, and RisenFire to showcase what he can do. This young man is ready to make a name for himself and I wouldn’t be surprised if college interest picks up for him once the fall season concludes.
Jedidiah Adjayi Jedidiah Adjayi 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Evergreen Park | 2024 IL RB Evergreen Park Twitter
Mr. Adjayi is from Evergreen Park, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he balled out. If you’re looking for a running back that’s going to tower over the defenders and weigh over 200 pounds then this young man isn’t for you, BUT if you’re looking for a workhorse that fights for every yard playing through the whistle and giving it all that he’s got then look no further. What I like most about this young man is that he stands at 5’7 160, some can call that an undersized back, and plows defenders over that are much bigger than him. His pure aggressiveness paired with his ability to switch gears quickly is a sight to see. The first minute or so of his spring season highlight tape is filled with plays that showcase just that, he’s ready to make a name for himself this fall season and I look forward to seeing the show he puts on.
Randall Nauden Randall Nauden 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Brother Rice | 2024 State IL RB Marian Catholic Twitter
Mr. Nauden is from Marian Catholic, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and showcased what he can do. It seems like the Marian Catholic Spartans are going to have another premier back with this young man after Tajheem Lawson Tajheem Lawson 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Marian Catholic | 2021 IL departs for college. What I like most about this young man is his ability to change gears quickly and his elusiveness making the first defender miss. Once the ball is in his hands he takes off blowing by the 2nd level of defenders which is a sight to see. Mr. Nauden stands at 5’11 180 and is ready to make a name for himself this fall season.
Luke Williams Luke Williams 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Naperville North | 2024 State IL WR Naperville North Twitter
Mr. Williams is from Naperville North, he played on Varsity as a Freshman and he was a sight to see. His ability to make big plays as a freshman is eye-opening, he makes contested catches over the defender on more than one occasion during his highlight film and extends plays during the QB scramble drill. What I like most about this young man is how explosive he is once he gets out of his break to secures the catch turning upfield. Mr. Williams stands at 6’0 170 and after getting his first season of Varsity football under his belt look for him to make a name for himself this fall as well as moving forward into the following seasons.
Aric Johnson Aric Johnson 6'0" | 190 lbs | WR Kaneland | 2024 State IL WR Kaneland Twitter
Mr. Johnson is from Kaneland, he played on Varsity as a Freshman where he showcased what he can do. Standing at 6’0 180 this young man is used in all areas of the game lining out wide at receiver, running jet sweeps, and returning kicks (punt return & kickoff return). What I like most about this young man is his ability to run the 9 route (fly route) to make the catch on the deep shot play where sometimes it’s even making a contested catch with the defender draped all over him. Mr. Johnson is paired with Corey Phillips Corey Phillips 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Kaneland | 2022 State IL and Troyer Carlson Troyer Carlson 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Kaneland | 2024 State IL on this offensive attack, he’s ready to make a name for himself this fall and I have no doubt that he will showcase what he can do.
Dennis Mandala Dennis Mandala 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB IC Catholic | 2024 State IL QB IC Catholic Prep Twitter
Mr. Mandala is from IC Catholic Prep, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased his abilities. This young man only stands at 5’9 150 but man can he play. He already possesses pocket footwork on his dropbacks and puts the ball in his receiver’s basket. What I like most about him is his ability to get the ball off under pressure and his ability to run with the ball when he scrambles as well as when he runs read-options. Once he hits that second gear it’s off to the races as he blows by the 2nd level of defenders. Mr. Mandala is a name to keep an eye on as he’s ready to make a name for himself come this fall season.
MJ Hansen MJ Hansen 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Burlington Central | 2024 State IL OL Burlington Central Twitter
Mr. Hansen is from Burlington Central, he played on Varsity as a Freshman where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is how quick he is off the ball which helps him in all areas of the game such as getting to 2nd level blocks and stopping the defender in his tracks during pass protection. He has a good frame standing at 6’4 280 and has been working with Coach Sabo from Fist Football to further develop himself as well as hone his craft. Mr. Hansen could very well become a top OL prospect in the 24’ class when it’s all said and done as he already has the aggressiveness under his belt, now it’s about honing his craft and seeing how he produces each season.
Manuel Garcia-Rivera Manuel Garcia-Rivera 6'4" | 320 lbs | OL Riverside Brookfield | 2024 IL OL Riverside Brookfield
Mr. Garcia Rivera is from Riverside Brookfield, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is how quickly he gets hands-on driving the defender into the ground whether that’s in pass protection or run blocking. He’s a bigger tackle standing at 6’4 330, moves well for his size, and gets after it. Mr. Garcia Rivera has room to develop further and hone his craft further, with that being said he’s ready to make a name for himself this fall so be on the lookout as he continues to put in the work this off-season.
Alonzo Manning Alonzo Manning 5'5" | 160 lbs | RB Mount Carmel | 2024 State IL RB Marist Twitter
Mr. Manning is from Marist, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he was a sight to see. He’s a smaller back standing at 5’5 150 but oh boy does he play like he’s 6’2 220. He isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder running the defender over and fights for every yard. What I like most about this young man is his ability to change the gears in a heartbeat which he uses to blow by the 2nd level of defenders. Now keep in mind, Mr. Manning can also catch the ball out of the backfield which he showcased at various camps that he attended. This young man is ready to make a name for himself, he has the skill set to do so and I look forward to seeing how he produces this fall.
Miles Cremascoli Miles Cremascoli 6'3" | 205 lbs | ATH New Trier | 2024 State IL ATH New Trier Twitter
Mr. Cremascoli is from New Trier, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. He plays on both sides of the ball where he was able to make an impact. What I like most about this young man is his ability to go up and get the ball on offense and on defense his ability to blow up plays by getting pressure on the QB as well as getting off blocks to make the tackle in the backfield. Now again, this is at the JV level so we still have yet to see how this compares to how he does against Varsity competition. All of that being said, he has a good size standing at 6’2 180 heading into his sophomore season which I have no doubt will be a sight to see.
Porter Mihelich Porter Mihelich 6'1" | 270 lbs | DL Burlington Central | 2024 State IL DL Burlington Central Twitter
Mr. Mihelich is from Burlington Central, he played on JV as a Freshman where he showed what he can do. He showed glimpses during his first season of high school football where he would get pressure on the QB and finish each play until the whistle blew which is what I like most about this young man. His relentless efforts to play through the whistle and get in on every play is what caught my eye on Mr. Mihelich. He has a good frame standing at 6’1 210 and has been putting in work with Coach Saloman over at Fist Football to hone his craft as well as further develop himself heading into this fall season.
Brett Larson Brett Larson 6'3" | 270 lbs | OL Kaneland | 2024 IL DL Kaneland Twitter
Mr. Larson is from Kaneland, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is his aggressiveness, this comes to light when he gets off the ball and attacks the opposing player getting into the backfield to make the tackle. He stands at 6’2 240 and has been working with Coach Salamon over at Fist Football to hone his craft as well as further develop himself heading into this fall season. What I like most about this young man is the pocket footwork he showcased and the timing of routes with his receivers. He has a good frame standing at 6’2 195 and showcased his skillset on the mound in baseball. Mr. Giemzik is ready to make a name for himself come this fall season as he’s been in the gym and in the lab to hone his craft to develop further.
Luke Johnsen Luke Johnsen 6'3" | 260 lbs | TE Geneseo | 2024 IL TE Geneseo Twitter
Mr. Johnsen is from Geneseo, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. He has a good frame standing at 6’3 240 and this helps him in run blocking as well as making the catch in traffic to shield the defender off which is what I like most about this young man. He’s not going to kill you with his speed but his ability to use his frame to shield defenders off is something that caught my attention. Mr. Johnsen is ready to make a name for himself once the pads get put on this fall and I look forward to seeing how he produces.
These are the young men that are getting their first look at the rankings. They put in the hard work, developed their craft, and showcased what they can do during the spring season as well as at showcases/camps. Keep an eye on these young men as they are ready to make a name for themselves this fall season and for seasons to come.
