With a great amount of competitive teams, there’s bound to be a great chunk of talent within that amount, Koby Kayser Koby Kayser 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB BEE | 2022 State fits that mold. Kayser is a 5’9″, 190 lb. RB/LB for the 11B Runner-up Bridgewater-Emery-Ethan Seahawks. He helped lead the Seahawks on both sides of the ball to their 11-1 record, and nearly bringing home a State title in a close 18-14 loss in the finals. Watching his film, has good vision to find his way to the open field. He is sneaky fast, he doesn’t look like he’s moving fast on film, until he’s pulling away from the defenders for a long score. He also seems to like contact, looking to run defenders over and bing very physical in his tackles. One of the more underrated qualities that I always look for is a players football sense. Kayser definitely has that sense when I watched him on tape, he knows his abilities and how to use them. Whether that being knowing when to run through or around a defender, or knowing how to field his position on defense. Knowing his pass responsibility and knowing when to rush the QB. After speaking with Kayser I was able to notice his passion for the game first-hand in his answers, which I always enjoy to hear. Check out his Interview below!
PRZ: Hello Koby, tell us a little about yourself and how you began playing football.
Kayser: I’m a hard working athlete that wants to be the best on the field on both sides of the ball every night. I started playing football when I was in 3rd grade in the Junior League in Sioux Falls.
PRZ: What do you love about the game?
Kayser: The thing I love most about the game in the brotherhood over years with the same team, and pushing each other to be the best you can be. I also enjoy the competitiveness and the work you have to put in to be successful.
PRZ: What positions do you play?
Kayser: I’m a Running Back and a Linebacker.
PRZ: What are your expectations for you and your team in the 2021 season?
Kayser: My expectations for myself is to help put my team into winning positions each week on both sides of the ball. I also want to beat all the records I set last year. My expectations for my team is to give it all they got every week and do our best to win and bring home a State Championship.
PRZ: How is your recruiting going? What schools have you been in contact with?
Kayser: My recruiting has been going great! I’m hoping to turn more heads this coming season by going to camps and really get my name out there. I have an offer from Dakota Wesleyan, but I have spoken with UND, SDSU, Augie, Northern State, USF and a lot of NAIA schools.
