Their numbers were eye opening during the short spring season, and they’ll look to take that same momentum into the fall. Take a look at some stat sheet standouts that will return in the fall:
Dom Montiel Dom Montiel 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Marshfield | 2022 State OR , QB, Marshfield ’22: The 6’3″ 190lb gunslinger threw for 1,711 yards and 22 TD’s last season in just a 6 game span. Montiel averaged 285 yards per game, proving to be one of the top QB’s in the state. He’ll look to put up bigger numbers this fall given a full season and projects to see a rise in his stock soon.
DJ Daugherty DJ Daugherty 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Marshfield | 2022 State OR , DB, Marshfield ’22: Daugherty was one of the best ball hawks in the state statistically as he recorded 5 INT’s in 6 games played. He excels in man coverage as he tracks the receivers hips well, can turn and run, and shows a solid leaping ability to be able to pluck INT’s out of the air. Solid ball skills all around and a great overall athlete that projects to bust loose in the fall.
Gavin Knights Gavin Knights 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH Thurston | 2022 State OR , RB, Thurston ’22: Knights rushed for 956 yards and 13 TD’s in 6 games for Thurston. Although he’s undersized at 5’9″ 165lbs, he plays with a chip on his shoulder and is a solid all-around athlete that looks to translate that big spring season into the fall and pick up were he left off.
Cooper Gobel, QB, Banks ’22: Gobel threw for 1,428 yards and 18 TD’s and added 2 rushing TD’s to the stat sheet, and he will return for his senior year in the fall and look to put up even bigger numbers. The first year varsity starter impressed throughout his junior campaign and showed good poise, timing, and football IQ and should make a big leap from his junior to senior seasons.
Caleb Kim Caleb Kim 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Sunset | 2022 State OR , RB, Sunset ’22: It seemed like we mentioned Kim almost weekly throughout the spring season, as he put up 944 all-purpose yards and 15 TD’s. A clear threat at RB and can change the game in a split second, as he projects to have a breakout senior campaign.
Charlie White Charlie White 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Banks | 2022 State OR , WR, Banks ’22: White hauled in 32 rec for 604 yards and 9 TD’s last season, and also racked up 45 tackles at LB for Banks. He’s a two-way standout and returns for his senior season with huge role, and has an established connection with QB Cooper Gobel that could be lethal this upcoming season.
Brycen Indell Brycen Indell 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Willamette | 2022 State OR , RB/LB, Willamette ’22: Indell is another two-way standout and put up solid numbers on both sides of the ball for Willamette. He was able to rack up 84 total tackles, 67 solo, 12 TFL’s, and added 560 total yards and 9 TD’s. He’s a clear threat on both sides of the ball and only scratched the surface of his potential last year.
Jake Reichle Jake Reichle 6'3" | 185 lbs | DB Lakeridge | 2022 State OR , DB, Lakeridge ’22: Reichle was an absolute beast for Lakeridge as he recorded 87 tackles and 2 INT’s. He sizes up with solid length at 6’3″ 185lbs and is a legit FBS level talent. He continues to take leaps in terms of talent and holds a high ceiling going forward.
