Even with a 1-5 season in 2020, the Garofano and the coaching staff believe that this group of prospects can make a statement – with Covid and this pandemic not playing the role it did last year.
While the 40-0 win over Inverness Citrus was the only victory the Eagles had this past season, the program will learn and grow by looking back at the losses to Weeki Wachee (13-6), Brooksville Nature Coast (15-3), Brooksville Hernando (20-0) and Clearwater Countryside (21-7) in the playoffs.
As this team has learned and grown this off-season, it was with senior leadership. That Class of 2022 is a group that really had to work hard for exposure.
Today, we have four senior prospects that Springstead will rely on in 2021:
Cross Licht (Slot/DB, Athlete, 5-10, 165 – 4.05 GPA, 19 ACT). What has gotten this young man this far is his work ethic, skill and ability to get it done in the classroom. Solid young man, who will play anywhere as long as it’s helping his team win. Versatile football player.

Joshua Lepp (OL, 5-10, 230 – 3.3 GPA). Low center of gravity always becomes an offensive lineman’s friend, and the more you watch this quality talent perform, you can see how he’s worked on his technique, and it shows – as he stays low and finishes off his blocks. Yet another leader that the Eagles have in this group – and that is what’s needed.

Jordan Novomestky (LB, 5-9, 190 – 3.3 GPA). As soon as you watch this young man play, it is understood that on every snap, he will be around the ball. Impressive and reliable tackler. Someone who makes plays and reads extremely well. Passion for the game and a leader on the field. The coaches are hoping that this is .

Nick White (OL, 6-1, 225). Yet another versatile talent that the Eagles have for the upcoming season. Not only is he an agile and quality offensive lineman – with tremendous feet and improving strength – but he is also athletic enough to play tight end. You have to watch prospects like this to truly appreciate them.
