The dead period has been lifted, which means we are back for the final college camps of the summer and it’s time to crank up high school workouts. Football on the gridiron is literally right around the corner!
In today’s “Five”, we look over some of the top underclassmen standouts from camp season this summer and some guys to keep an eye on during the upcoming Fall season.
1. (LB) Ethan Crisp Ethan Crisp 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Mt. Juliet | 2023 State TN (6’3 205) – Mt. Juliet
– This Golden Bears linebacker has established himself as one of the most known names from the 2023 class after a strong offseason of action. Crisp is an active and smart coverage style linebacker that displayed a variety of skills during camps this year that has now placed him as an in-state Top 10 talent. He already sports multiple P5 offers but expect many others to come his way over the following months.

2. (QB) Brock Glenn Brock Glenn 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Lausanne | 2023 State TN (6’2 190) – Lausanne
– Glenn was one of the biggest breakout stars of camp season where he showed off a strong right arm along with size and a cerebral approach to the huddle. College coaches have started to look deeper into this Memphis area signal caller as Glenn sports a lot of traits that translate very well to the Power Five, Division 1 level. Look for tons of schools to keep tabs on Glenn during the upcoming Fall football season.

3. (C/OG) Cal Grubbs Cal Grubbs 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Maryville | 2023 State TN (6’4 280) – Maryville
– Taking advantage of an opportunity is exactly what Grubbs did this camp season as he not only earned a few offers but put himself on the map as a top level in-state recruit for the 2023 class. This offseason was big for Grubbs and his future. He really embraced the full camp schedule, performing just about everywhere and standing out at every stop. Grubbs is an interior versatile guy who could be your starter college center for many years to come.

4. (CB/S) Syncere Safeeullah Syncere Safeeullah 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Hillsboro | 2023 FL (6’2 180) – Hillsboro
– Safeeullah really established himself back in the spring with strong work during 7v7 play but then took his game to another level, competing at college camps this summer. This long and tall possible college cover corner has the traits that P5 and D1 coaches like, so you can see why the Cats and Rebels have offered and why many others are interested. A big junior season for Safeeullah will go a long way towards his stock rising even further.

5. (OT/G) Joe Crocker Joe Crocker 6'6" | 310 lbs | OL FRA | 2023 State TN (6’7 305) – Franklin Road Academy
– A massive young man with improving lower body agility, Crocker has really improved this offseason, showing more athleticism and the ability to move his feet. Those improved traits have shown up at camps this summer and coaches have noticed. Crocker has worked his tail off to improve his game and it is paying off as the Panthers rising junior is working towards establishing himself as one of the top linemen in the country.
