After taking big leaps in terms of talent and maturity as they head into their sophomore seasons, all signs point to these guys busting loose in the fall. Here’s a look at 4 talented players from he 2024 class in southern Arizona that you need to know:
Elijah Rushing Elijah Rushing 6'6" | 255 lbs | DL Salpointe Catholic | 2024 State AZ , DL, 6’5″ 220lbs, Salpointe Catholic
Rushing is yet another highly touted young prospect from Salpointe Catholic, as he already holds offers from Arizona and Arizona State. He is a gifted all-around athlete with raw talent and is checking all the boxes to develop into an elite pass rusher. He displays a solid initial ball get off and possesses excellent speed and quickness to win off the LOS. He’s flashed good flexibility, bend, and leverage on the edges with solid balance without losing quickness. Rushing uses his length and leaping ability to his advantage to deflect passes at the LOS as well. He took a major leap this offseason as he frequently turned heads and impressed at various camps and showcases.

Luis Cordova Luis Cordova 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Salpointe Catholic | 2024 State AZ , OL, 6’4″ 270lbs, Salpointe Catholic
Along with Rushing, Cordova has been one of the most popular 2024’s in the state this offseason, as he picked up an offer from Arizona back in March, and has also drawn interest from several more P5 programs. Cordova holds strong position versatility along the offensive line with the athleticism to excel at multiple positions. He shows the ability to use leverage and get underneath opponents to control and redirect them in the run game. He flashes a powerful punch and possesses a strong anchor and holds numerous intangibles at a young age that colleges will love. A big time prospect with a high ceiling that will be one of the highest recruited 2024 offensive linemen in Arizona when it’s all said and done.
Cameron Hackworth Cameron Hackworth 5'9" | 160 lbs | QB Sabino | 2024 State AZ , QB, 5’9″ 160lbs, Sabino
Hackworth looks like a very promising dual-threat QB prospect for Sabino as he had numerous eye opening plays on his film. He’s a playmaker behind center and is a big play threat with his legs. He shows good vision as a ball carrier with a nice burst and possesses top end speed for big play ability. He shows excellent change of direction with twitch and is slippery and elusive in tight spaces. He flashed velocity on some throws, but really progressed this offseason as a passer at various 7v7 events. He flashed the ability to hit throws in tight windows, use touch and stretch the field vertically, and go through progression with anticipation. Hackworth projects to explode in 2021.

Sa’Kylee Woodard Sa’Kylee Woodard 6'3" | 305 lbs | OL Canyon Del Oro | 2024 State AZ , DL, 6’3″ 305lbs, Canyon del Oro
Woodard sizes up with a thick frame and build at 6’3″ 305lbs and is a standout on both the OL and DL for Canyon del Oro. He displays a strong lower half with a good center of gravity and balance and shows glimpses of transferring that weight room strength to the field. Woodard is strong at the POA and has flashed a nice striking ability on same plays, and holds good physicality all around. He has yet to see that first offer come in, but given his size, strength, and rawness at a young age, I wouldn’t be surprised to see those offers start to come in throughout this season.
