1) Tre Alexander G #65 (North Hardin) Jr.
Tre Alexander is still one of the biggest linemen, yet he is still very athletic for his size and can up field block. Tre started out just being in the rankings because of his staggering size, but after a month of play he has shown he has plenty of skill to add on to that. North Hardin’s rushing game has been decently effective over this time as well, seeing improvements right after week 1. His 6’5 frame allows him to make defenders slide down to a knee or bounce back after initial contact off the line. Alexander is a prime OL who will continue to be in rankings with his current immovable playstyle at the line.
2) Matthew Hopper OL #67 (Bullitt East) So.
Matthew is the best linemen on one of the best offenses in the state right now, Bullitt East is stacked right now with players that have had exceptional performances this season, Hopper leads a top 3 rushing game in the region, great at using leverage to get planted down on the line and open up holes for the big plays. Matthew is also the guy giving the time and covering the blind side of the most effecient QB – WR combo in the region. All in all, Hooper has been a part of the success in Bullitt East and there is A LOT of offensive success from Bullitt East so far this year.
3) Devonte Yates OL #52 (John Hardin) Sr.
Devonte Yates is a strong player, he hits harder and has gotten some great downfield blocking. Yates is an important one on one sealing the edge type of blocker, he is great off the line and I haven’t seen him lose any one-on-one matchups that cost the Bulldogs a drive or play. Devonte, like Hopper, is apart of an EXTREMLEY successful rushing unit, John Hardin HS has totaled more than 1,000 running yards over 4 games, and it is not by accident, using there blockers like Yates to their fullest potential and having induvial skills shine through. Devonte Yates excels in the role and system he is placed in and plays better the more snaps they play (especially running plays).
4) Seth Knox OL #79 (Bullitt Central) Sr.
Seth Knox is a bulldozer for Bullitt Central, the Lions use him as a pulling guard or inside trap blocker and he has several plays where he just rolls over a defender. Seth is gifted with a body that is big but not debilitating to speed or agility, as he pulls so fast and effectively, while still having very good hit power on contact. Knox is a great pairing Schofner, as they sync up on runs, clearing through the pile with Seth Knox leading Zac through the best running lane and clearing the way for him so he can burst his way to the outside., it is a strategy that has accumlated over 700 rushing yards in 4 games.
5) Chad Doogs T (Elizabethtown) Sr.
Chad Doogs is a consistent performer, and is always playing his best game. Chad can play both sides of the ball in the same game, play all 48 minutes, and finish with a good mentality, not an emotional player, but a smart, good physical player who gets his job done every Friday. Elizabethtown has had issues this season, but Doogs has remedy the offense many times with a key pass block to save the QB some time or a crucial downfield block that secures TDs for the RB, either way Chad Doogs is making the play or at least getting very close to making the play. Doogs is very disciplined and gets to where he needs to be on the field, barely gets beat, and has the endurance of a track athlete.
6) Andrew Hobbs G #41 (Central Hardin) Jr.
Andrew Hobbs is another big linemen, who has a 6’5 frame. Hobbs is a hell of a player and someone who can make whole right off the start of a play, he can quickly turn a player or push himself where they were so his 3 – back rushing attack can have somewhere to go. Inside runs or in the middle of the pocket, Andrew has gotten the techniques down is starting to grow through the season, showing that even with a size advantage fundamentals are impactful to a players game, as he has developed into a more patient pass blocking linemen, that reserves his energy for the big burst he needs to (usually) turn the defenders and open up space
7) Dameon Lyons OL #54 (John Hardin) Fr.
Dameon is a guy who can hold his own against anyone in front of him and a reliable linemen. Most of the season where Lyons plays at, it doesn’t have any issues, he might not pancake or throw people around, but he holds his own against anyone and everyone he plays against. Dameon Lyons is only a freshmen and already being an impactful players in one of the most productive offensive units, he has plenty of time to grown and already playing at a high level with his team mates and never failing his task.
8) Peyton Stafford T #73 (Bullitt East) Jr.
Stafford is the LT for the most successful offense right now in the region. Peyton is great at dealing with edge rushers and staying with them through the play. Great at pass blocking for long periods of time, can deal with a blitz fine and has some running block highlights where he leads the way for an outside burst of speed for the RB.
9) Michael Keown OL #52 (Spencer County) Jr.
Keown is a new player I have been keeping up with, but so far everything I have seen of him is good. Off the line, getting position, and strength all check out, Michael has a tendency to block and look for another player to block while he is still blocking the first one, which has seemingly been a good tendency. Micheal Keown is a linemen with the ability to play and drive to want to play harder on every play, definitely a player I will keep up with more through the season as the sky is the limit with his potential
10) Sebastian Espinoza T #53 (Bullitt East) Jr.
Espinoza is the RT for the Chargers and is great at moving up and going way downfield for blocks. Sebastian is small for the OL position but the amount of speed and momentum he is able to control and B-line right into a LB or DB full force, is what makes him a good blocker. Usually giving the runner a downfield option if they need to cut inside. Sebastian is playing with a top offense and has a chance to really shine with more play like he has been doing recently.
Honorable Mention : AJ Orton #74 (Central Hardin) Sr.
AJ Orton is a big linemen, but he is also a smart linemen and knows where D-Linemen want to go. He will use his size and arm position to not give the DTs and NTs a chance at breaking through. Interior linemen with a prescience to keep the pocket together and a big guy to get through on run plays, all in all, a great football player for CHHS.
