1) Keyandre Stand RB #28 (John Hardin) Sr.
Keyandre is undoubtedly the best offensive player I have covered in Central KY. As of right now he has 3 games above 200 rushing yards (in week 2 loss, he had 302) and averages 20 rushing attempts a game. Every team that plays against Stand knows what John Hardin is doing a majority of the game, rushing the football, yet he still scores every game and/or goes for 200 – 300 yards. Keyandre Stand faces adversity every week with the whole defense prepared, ready to blitz almost every play against him, but he still finds success.
Week 2 : 22 Rushes for 302 yards and 3 TDs
846 Total rushing yards (4 games)
2) Zach Shofner RB #2 (Bullitt Central) Sr.
Zach has played in 25 snaps a game and on multiple occasions scored +4 TDs. Zach Schofner like mentioned in my original rankings, uses an acceleration that no one on the field can match and burst by the defense. Zach is near impossible to catch in the open field and is constantly getting chances to break free as he is one of the highest usage rate players in the region. He is a majority of Bullitt Central’s offense, which is a high scoring group. Schofner is one of the fastest players I’ve scouted this year and can find the open hole, and keep the drive alive when needed.
Week 1 : 26 rushes for 291 yards, 5 TDs
Week 4 : 28 rushes for 142 yards, 4 TDs
Rushing total into week 4 : 705 yards, 12 TDs
Note : Week 5 didn’t have stats
3) Travis Egan QB #10 (Bullitt East) Jr.
Travis is is highly productive QB, throwing nearly 30 times a game and scoring 5 – 6 TDs in big wins for Bullitt East. Egan has thrown 110 times with only 2 INTs, and the most accurate for a team who averages more than 10 throws a game in the region (63% completions). Travis Egan wasn’t able to get on my first regional top 10 in week 1 as Bullitt East had not started there season until week 2, but ever since week 2, he has been the best QB in every category. He has the skills to put them in a 3 – 1 record, the only loss being by 2 points, in every win his stats speak for themself, he is a player who can takeover games.
Week 2 : 17/29 completions for 1 INT 2 TDs, 246 yards
Week 3 : 19/31 completions for 5 TDs, 308 yards
Week 5 : 13/24 completions for 6 TDs, 375 yards
4) Mason Gauthier RB #23 (Bullitt East) Jr.
Mason Gauthier is the new scoring machine, as he has multiple TDs in 3 of his 4 games, also rushing above 100 in every game. Mason is a shifty back that is undersized but uses it to his advantage as he can break through tight running lanes and avoid tackles while in the open field easier as well, using his lower center of mass to make cuts and angles that bigger guys cant catch up to. Mason G. is another centerpiece to the extremely effective Bullitt East offense.
Week 4 : 29 rushes 171 yards 4 TDs
Rushing Totals from week 5 : 611 yards 10 TDs
5) Camron Brogan WR #2 (Bullitt East) Jr.
Camron is a very strong physical player who plays a lot harder than most people on the field, jumping up high for catches and running hard at the defensive while in traffic, he turns small underneath, 2nd option routes into big plays for Bullitt East. Brogan has nearly 30 receptions and 5 are for TDs, he has also has played 4 of 5 weeks, so those numbers are from 1 less game than most people on the list. Brogan is the most targeted receiver in the area as of right now and its because he has found the most success at that position so far.
Week 3 : 5 receptions for 119 yards and 2 TDs
Week 5 : 6 receptions for 200 yards and 3 TDs
6) Greg Hall RB #25 (Elizabethtown) Sr.
Greg Hall has always been a top 10 player in this region on offense and defense, maybe not #1 at one position group, but I’d say he is the #1 All-around player in the region right now. Hall offensively has found success in most of his games, and always plays his fullest showing his passion after a long run or TD. Greg Hall has had some games where he rushes 10 or 9 times and some where he rushes 22, and been successful many times showing in different sets against completely different defenses he will play a good solid game.
Week 1 : 10 rushes for 144 yards, 1 TD
Week 3 : 14 rushes for 67 yards, 1 TD
Week 4 : 22 rushes for 121 yards
7) Devon Rogers QB #4 (John Hardin) Sr.
Devon Rogers is still being an athlete and leader for the Bulldogs and shows moments where he can do a little bit of everything, Devon Rogers is carrying the ball for 200+ yards and passing for almost the same amount, the TDs are also split evenly. Devon Rogers supplements his 2 headed rushing attack while also offering a passing option that he can hit big throws or quick slings in the middle.
Week 1 : 4/5 completions for 2 TDs, 96 yards / 7 rushes for 105 yards and 3 TDs
Season Totals : 3 Passing TDs / 5 Rushing TDs (415 Total Yards)
8) Kellen Bowen WR #8 (LaRue County) Sr.
Kellen Bowen is half of the passing game for LaRue and one of the most reliable options in the region, every week he is getting about 5 catches. Bowen has totaled 267 yards and hasn’t had a game without closing in on 60 yards received. Great route runner, and catches in traffic comfortably, definitely has potential to grow as LaRue’s passing game gets more efficient every game they play.
Receiving Totals by Week 5 : 19 Receptions for 267 yards and 1 TD
9) Queshon Davis WR #6 (North Hardin) Sr.
Queshon Davis is a consistent top receiver for the Trojans averaging 10 yards a catch. Queshon isn’t a a specific big play vertical receiver, or short passing lane RAC receiver, he is a mixture of both and quite good in man coverage. Davis has been very consistent while showing he has alot of skill, and once he starts to sharpen each of his skills, he can become a great WR1 option
Receiving Totals in Week 5 : 23 receptions for 235 yards 1 TD
10) Cutter Boley QB #7 (LaRue County) Sr.
I did not include LaRue in my week 1 rankings, but 5 weeks into the season they have a couple of players, that need to be mentioned. Cutter is one of those players, he showed he can battle adversity through a season, in the last 2 games he has thrown nearly 300 yards on 58% accuracy, rushed for about 40 and scored 3 TDs with only 1 TO. Cutter Boley has the pocket awareness and ability to make big plays, is noticably accurate even when blitzed. Boley has potential to be higher on this list, especially if he keeps up this pace and quality, the only reason is LaRue’s week 1 loss, but at the same time, it shows he can bounce back from a tough game.
Week 3 : 9/13 completions for 100 passing yards / 9 rushes for 31 yards and 1 TD,
Week 4 : 9/18 completions for 1 INT, 2 TDs, 191 yards / 4 rushes for 7 yards
Week 5 : Cancelled
Honorable Mention : Maine Wimberly QB #12 (North Hardin) Sr.
Maine has become a solid QB despite North Hardin’s record, half of their losses are by 3 points and still have some good player performances. Wimberly has completed 61 passes in 5 games on 55% accuracy. The North Hardin QB has thrown for over 650 yards and totals 6 passing TDs at the midway point, he is a vertical player, very good at waiting in the pocket for the big throw to open up. Will play through bad games and end up not doing bad, always plays until 0:00, Wimberly is a QB who can take over games on offense and has potential to grow in to a consistent performer that we seen in week 2 and 5.
Week 2 : 11/18 completions for 2 TDs, 152 yards
Week 5: 11/22 completions for 2 TDs, 156 yards
