Standouts
Allendale Sr. DL Domenico Tejeda – 6’0 – 258lbs
Tejeda anchored what is a good front 7 for Allendale. Totaling about 10 tackles, including 1 sack, and 2 TFL’s, Tejeda brought the pressure and usually finished with a big hit. I’m very proud of Tejeda’s performance, and he’s a force to be reckoned with in the OK-Blue.
Coopersville Sr. DE/RB Tim Allen – 6’3 – 225lbs
Allen was all over the field making plays both on offense and defense. I knew about him going into this game, but I honestly underestimated his abilities. On defense, he beat nearly every block he was faced up against and it was painfully obvious that Allendale game planned to run plays opposite to Allen’s side. His height, athleticism, power, etc were way too much for a struggling offensive line. In terms of offense, Allen is a decent back who runs hard. He was also targeted on a few passes. He was good on that end, but it’s obvious that he’s a defensive superstar.
Coopersville Jr. WR Ryan Serba
Making amazing catches and running all over the field, Serba played an incredible game countering Allendale’s game plan. In total, Serba had 2TD’s, 189 yds, on 9 catches. Here is just one of his great grabs.

Coopersville Jr. QB Colton Bosch – 6’1 – 195lbs
Allendale’s defensive game plan was to bring constant pressure- and Bosch’s response was to throw for 3TD’s and 260 yards. I was impressed by some of the balls he threw, as some were put in just the right spot for his receivers to have a chance- and man oh man did the Coopersville receiving core ball out. Because of the constant blitz, Allendale played lots of man coverage which Bosch mostly took advantage of, though he did miss some throws. Overall an excellent performance from him.
Scouts notes
From the jump, Coopersville looked like the bigger, more confident team. Shoutout to Coopersville’s head coach Ed Kaman for really bringing the juice and leading the team to a very good-looking win. The game plan was sound, and Coopersville got it done. The one area I didn’t like for Coopersville was the offensive line. They did not look prepared for many of the blitz packages, especially early in the game.
Coopersville now sits confidently at 5-0 in a 4-way tie for 1st in the OK-Blue. They face 5-0 West Catholic at home next week.
Allendale came in with a game plan that made lots of sense, but they just couldn’t get it done. With their biggest offensive star out, Allendale resorted to running the ball to the opposite side of Tim Allen, but that really didn’t go well. Nobody on the offense played well enough to win. Defensively, Allendale took a page out of the Don Brown playbook and played lots of soft man coverage with constant blitzing. The front 7 of Allendale played very well, and that’s not to say the secondary played badly, they were just outplayed by the Coopersville receivers and QB.
Allendale sits at 2-3 with some very winnable games ahead of them. They face 1-4 Holland Christian on the road next week.
