CJ Greer, SS, Trevor Browne ’23
Greer was a standout on both sides of the ball, and was able to record 4 tackles, force a fumble, and deflect a pass which was clutch to seal the 32-28 win over Cibola. He eats up ground well with good closing speed as a tackler and flashed strength at the POA. His PBU in the endzone was impressive, as he was originally manned up on the slot, recognized a field side flat develop, then immediately broke on the flat to break it up. Very clutch performance from Greer all night.
Norien Banks Norien Banks 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Casa Grande | 2024 AZ , LB, Sequoia Pathway Academy ’24
Banks is at it again, as he racked up 12 tackles, 4 TFL’s, a sack, 2 hurries, had a 60 yard scoop and score. There is no film from his recent performance against Bisbee, but his continued production given his age and class should start drawing some positive attention his way as he continues to develop.
Hayden Allen, ATH, Mountain Ridge ’24
This young prospect stepped up big in the 39-35 win over centennial, as he was able to snag 2 INT’s which was able to give Mountain ridge some momentum late in the 2nd quarter which led to a Ridge TD. He read the QB’s eyes well and displayed solid ball skills in the back half of the field, as both of his INT’s came on inside vertical routes up the seam. He showed a good understanding of zone responsibilities with their 2-high look, and came in clutch on Friday night.
Tre Tate Tre Tate 6'5" | 190 lbs | WR Hamilton | 2022 State AZ , DB, Hamilton ’22
Tate was a very underrated contributor against Bishop Gorman. He had 10 tackles, 2 PBU’s, and a big INT to prevent a Bishop Gorman TD which ended up having a huge impact later down the line. He displayed solid range and did a great job flying to the ball, flashing nice instincts as well. I really like his frame at 6’4″ 195lbs as he still has room to add weight. Lanky DB with solid range and football IQ that needs to be on your radar as the season progresses.
Parker McClure Parker McClure 5'11" | 225 lbs | LB Red Mountain | 2022 State AZ , LB, Red Mountain ’22
McClure racked up 14 tackles to help Red Mountain secure the W over Corona del sol 28-7. He showcased good instincts and did a great job identifying opening alleys to fill them and meet ball carriers around the LOS. Strong at the POC and can deliver some big hits if he can get squared up on a ball carrier. Overall another solid night for McClure as he continues to have a productive season.
