Good Counsel faces Baltimore powerhouse St. Frances Academy this Friday at home, and this primetime matchup is sure to be a game of the year candidate. The Falcons defeated St. Frances in their Spring season matchup, however, there’s no doubt that the SFA Panthers will bring more of a fight to this contest. Let’s take a look at which Good Counsel players performed well last week, as well as who could potentially impact this upcoming game on Friday night.
Good Counsel
Offense:
2023 6’5 220 QB – Neeo Avery Neeo Avery 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD
Neeo Avery Neeo Avery 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD looked like a running back against Friendship Collegiate because he was constantly running up and down the field all game long. His dual action capabilities are now more clear than ever, and they couldn’t have surfaced at a better time for the Falcons. There’s no question that Neeo Avery Neeo Avery 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD will have to play his best game of the season if Good Counsel wants to beat SFA for the second time in six months. If Avery can maintain a balanced offensive attack and not solely rely on his legs, then the young Good Counsel Falcons can absolutely stun St. Frances Academy yet again. Neeo Avery Neeo Avery 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD will have a massive impact on this contest win or lose.
2022 6’1 185 WR – Shane Carroll
The number one receiver for Good Counsel is most definitely Shane Carroll and he proved why against Friendship Collegiate. Carroll connected with his quarterback, Neeo Avery Neeo Avery 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD , for a score early on in the contest, and the two really just make it look easy together. Carroll’s ability to find the open space is second to none, and if he’s covered tight then he’s also able to create the space for himself using his fine tuned agility. Scouts everywhere should have their eyes on #1 Shane Carroll against St. Frances because he’s sure to have a breakout game under the lights.
2022 5’10 190 RB – Demilade Bosede
The Good Counsel backfield had a handful of running backs see a lot of touches last week, but none saw more success than Demilade Bosede. Bosede powered his way into the end zone for a truly impressive score, driving through opposing players with force to do so. With Bosede and Sophomore running back Dilin Jones handling the majority of the carries, the Good Counsel backfield is in phenomenal shape and WCAC defenses across the board should be worried. Demilade Bosede will absolutely give the St. Frances Academy defensive line all they can handle.
Defense:
2022 6’1 215 LB – Gary Bryant
Gary Bryant was the defensive player of the game for Good Counsel against Friendship Collegiate. Playing both middle and outside linebacker, Bryant was all over the field making big tackles and helping his teammates with their assignments. His efforts ensured a shutout victory for the Falcons because his fellow defensemen fed off of his aggressive play and relentless effort. The Good Counsel defense is heating up at just the right time, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Falcons go toe to toe with St. Frances again. Gary Bryant is an extremely key player in this primetime showdown.
