Below, we will break down and review the tape of some of these athletes and list some others to note.
RB Charles Brown, Pittsburg HS, 2023
Brown is one of the most electric backs across the entire region and has a whopping 5 touchdowns in 2 games played, and has played some of the best defenses around, including Folsom. Although not the biggest, he makes up for it with his physicality and running style while packing a punch in the short area. He is very explosive through the first and second level with quick feet and stays patient in traffic while showing terrific short area quickness and lateral movement abilities. Also able to easily make defenders miss in the open field, he is a very fluid back with cutback ability and is one of the most fun to watch and big play players the Bay Area has to offer.
OL/DL Roger Alderman, Sonora HS, 2023
Alderman is very athletic for his size and offers a nice ceiling at the next level due to untapped potential and a big/long frame. Playing offensive tackle and defensive end, he constantly is able to show off his movement abilities and fluidity in space which is very impressive for someone his size. On tape, he seems to be a natural bender out of his stance and has a quick first step while playing with a heavy initial strike and showing good leg drive, strong base and finish through out his blocks. He can block in space while taking good angles to second level defenders and sustains blocks consistently while playing with good physicality and toughness. At 6’5 and only a Junior, he should start to see his recruiting stock rise over the next few months and going into the offseason.
