Nate Beck Nate Beck 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Kentlake | 2022 State WA , QB, Kentlake ’22
Despite the loss, Beck had a huge night as he threw for 374 yards and 4 TD’s, while adding another 65 yards and 2 TD’s on the ground. He had an excellent RPO where he sold the pass exceptionally well, then flashed a nice burst upfield to punch it in for six. He showcased impressive athleticism all night as he frequently evaded pressure and was able to deliver numerous off platform throws on the money to his receivers. Impressive performance from Beck.
Kennedy McGill Kennedy McGill 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB North Creek | 2022 State WA , QB, North Creek ’22
McGill threw for 181 yards and 3 TD’s, but did his best work with his legs as he rushed for 222 yards and 3 TD’s on 23 carries. McGill possesses good lateral mobility, as he showcased excellent balance and COD to frequently break initial contact to pick up big chunks of yards. He shows a nice burst and acceleration upfield when he decides to stick his foot in the ground and make a cut, as he is an explosive ball carrier all-around. On 4th and short, he took a QB sneak about 68 yards to the house, as he just kept his legs driving in a pile and was able to sneak loose.
Tristan Warner Tristan Warner 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Bellarmine Prep | 2022 State WA , ATH, Bellarmine Prep ’22
Warner totaled 10 carries for 223 yards and 4 TD’s to help Bellarmine secure a 41-27 win over Curtis. One of his four TD’s came on about a 90 yard run where he cut up the gut, broke a tackle, then made two opponents miss in the open field to proceed to take it to the house. Warner has a nice frame and build at 6’1″ 185lbs and moves well within his frame. He flashed solid COD and enough speed to finish off big runs, and we could easily see him put up more big numbers on the ground as the season progresses.
Luke Lavigne, WR, Bainbridge ’23
Lavigne totaled 8 receptions for 137 yards and 3 TD’s on the loss to Olympic. He showcased a good leaping ability to high point the ball and win a contested catch in the back of the endzone, with solid body control and field awareness to keep a foot in bounds. He sizes up with superb length at 6’4″ 180lbs and possesses a large catch radius, and holds big potential to develop into a promising X/Z at the next level and should be a 2023 to remember.
Jackson Esary Jackson Esary 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Kalama | 2022 State WA , QB, Kalama ’22
Esary led Kalama to a 32-26 win over La Center with his 231 yards passing, 138 yards rushing and 4 total TD’s. Esary had a few plays where he went through progression well, and frequently delivered throws with solid placement. He showed the ability to hit throws on the run with accuracy as well. Esary did a good job picking up yards on his feet on coverage sacks or when the pocket collapsed, flashing dual-threat ability on Friday night.
Josh Perez, QB, Toppenish ’22
Perez threw for 381 yards and 8 TD’s to tie the school record on a 59-7 blowout win vs Wahluke. There is no recent film uploaded yet, but his stat line is well deserving of a spot on this top performers list.
