Both teams have plenty of talented players and this game is one to pay attention in the state of Arkansas. Parkview and Pine Bluff each will come into this matchup undefeated. We will look at some keys to the game and what to expect on Friday night.
Looking first, at the visiting Parkview Patriots. The Patriots are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. We will look first at the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Jaylon White Jaylon White 6'3" | 200 lbs | DB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR plays on both sides of the ball and excels at both positions. Last Friday, White accounted for 377 total yards and two touchdowns. 285 of those yards that White accounted for came on the ground. Meanwhile, James Jointer James Jointer 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR is a running back that has that second gear that you look for at the running back position. Darien Bennett Darien Bennett 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2023 State AR gives the Patriots three guys in the offensive backfield that can take it the distance. At the receiver position, Parker Perry Parker Perry 6'4" | 175 lbs | WR Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR is a player that the Zebras defense is going to have to account for in the red zone.
Shifting gears and looking at the defensive side of the ball. Safety Trent Bennett Trent Bennett 6'1" | 200 lbs | DB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR is a ball hawk in the secondary. Bennett does a great job of being able to make a play on the ball and he has proven to be a steady tackler. Both Bennett and White are players in the secondary that are not afraid to make a strong tackle, and both should expect to be busy on Friday night accounting for the weapons that Zebras have on the offensive side of the ball.
Meanwhile, the Pine Bluff Zebras are off to a 1-0 start. Pine Bluff had to postpone the annual matchup against Pine Bluff Dollarway last week. Pine Bluff has several players that can take it the distance from anywhere on the field. In the win over Watson Chapel, Pine Bluff had two running backs escape for long touchdown runs X’Zavion Barnett and Tyrea Campbell Tyrea Campbell 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Pine Bluff | 2023 State AR each escaped for long touchdown runs. The Zebras have the speed and talent to generate big plays on the offensive side of the ball.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Zebras have several players that can take the game over. Charleston Collins Charleston Collins 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Little Rock Mills | 2024 State AR is an edge rusher that uses his size and speed well to disrupt the opposing offense. In the secondary, Braylon Hopkins at the safety spot does a good job of making plays on the ball. Hopkins has the hands to pick off passes and he is not afraid to make a tackle. The Pine Bluff defense will need to make some plays to keep the Parkview offense off of the field.
The Parkview-Pine Bluff matchup has the potential to be the states most interesting on Friday. Parkview has the explosive players to take over the game if Pine Bluff cannot force them off of the field. The game tonight will come down to which defense can make the key play. Parkview has the momentum coming into this game and this one has the makings of the Patriots winning a close one tonight. However, anything can happen on Friday nights.
