I had a fun night checking score updates, watching stat lines, and all that fun stuff! Today, let’s take a look at eastern Kansas and the kids from 3A/4A that stood out with some crazy stats from Friday night!
Caden Rhamy Caden Rhamy 6'3" | 230 lbs | ATH Paola | 2022 State KS – While we expected this defensive stud from Paola to stand out, Rhamy stepped up on Friday night in one of the most unexpected ways possible. On offense, Rhamy usually is a blocking tight end in the Panthers power run offense. But, after some injuries early to some running backs, Rhamy got moved to fullback for the night. Rhamy may have found himself a new position, as he took this moment and literally ran with it! In his first night as a varsity fullback, Rhamy went for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns in Paola’s opening win 41-21 over Bonner Springs. It will be interesting to see how Rhamy continues to do in this role if called upon.
Fletcher Pankey– Spring Hill opened up with playing a historically tough opponent in Louisburg on Friday, but Pankey showed while he is a very underrated quarterback in this state. Pankey had a great night slinging the rock, throwing a big 4 touchdowns in the Broncos 31-0 win to open the season. Spring Hill plays Paola this week, in a game sure to be loaded with fun with top players from both teams.
Silas Etter Silas Etter 6'3" | 200 lbs | ATH Eudora | 2022 State KS and Brayden Beerbower– The Eudora Cardinals showed up in a big way. Although historically not a dominant team in the Frontier League, lead by Etter and Beerbower, the Cardinals showed why they have been getting so much preseason hype. Beerbower opened up with a 32 yard touchdown and followed up the next drive with a 71 yard touchdown run. Etter also got involved in the long touchdown run, scoring a 44 yard run the 2nd quarter. The Cardinals steamrolled their way to a 53-0 win over Baldwin, and their stars certainly shined!
Daniel Mitchell-The Spring Hill receiver was a somewhat underrated senior going into Fridays game. If you weren’t aware of how good this kid is, he showed you he deserves to be on this list by scoring 2 long touchdown passes in the Broncos big win!
Bodi Isenhower– The 3A Prairie View Buffaloes have been a dominant force in 3A under Head Coach Kyle Litrell. The Buffaloes have had a run with a dominant run attack with several great running backs over the last several years, and Isenhower this season is adding to that list. Isenhower went off in the opening win, only getting 8 carries but gaining 130 yards and 2 touchdowns! With an amazing 16 yards per carry, Isenhower looks to add another big game this week in their rivalry matchup against an 0-1 Osawatomie Trojans team.
