Chiles transferred in from Los Alamitos and has been solid for Downey thus far. He was very efficient in a win against Cathedral of Los Angeles last week, completing 9 of 10 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. His numbers would have been more gaudy but Downey was blowing Cathedral out and brought in its senior quarterback. He entered the season splitting time with the senior quarterback but has outplayed him thus far, completing 70 percent of his passes and having double the touchdown passes. He has a big arm that I saw at the Battle at the Beach passing tournament over the summer.

Christopher Cooper, Beaumont, 2024
Cooper is the leading passer in the Southern Section through three games and is flying under the radar. In Beaumont’s 32-22 win against Summit, the sophomore completed 68 percent of his passes for 450 yards and five touchdowns. He is averaging nearly 400 yards per game and should be getting some recruiting attention soon.
Stats vs. Summit for Beaumont High's Gabriel Nunez on his 17th birthday: 16 catches, 257 yards, 5 TDs. "It was surreal," he said. Another birthday boy, Anson Kraut, caught 8 passes for 114 yards, and QB Christopher Cooper threw for 450 yards and the 5 scores in 32-22 BHS win. pic.twitter.com/5wrMSXAd3p

Jaidyn Gamble, JW North, 2022
Gamble and JW North’s football team hasn’t been tested yet, but Gamble has been very efficient through three games for the Huskies. He completed 11 of 12 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-0 rout of Notre Dame of Riverside. He has completed a remarkable 75 percent of his passes through three games this season with seven touchdowns and just one interception.
@j3idyn_g3mble from @JWNfootball with a big game throwing for over 200 yards and 4 tds earns him a nomination for the @SBVC_Football Inland Player of the Week! https://t.co/lbTUsrRCru

Nico Iamaleava Nico Iamaleava 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Warren | 2023 State CA , Warren, 2023
Iamaleava is one of the best quarterbacks in Southern California and is the reason Warren is one of the top teams in the Long Beach area. He threw for 350 yards and six touchdowns in a win over Grossmont. Warren hasn’t played anybody good yet but he has 18 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He has a big game this week against Serra of Gardena, led by fellow national recruit Maalik Murphy Maalik Murphy 6'5" | 225 lbs | QB Serra - Gardena | 2022 State CA . That quarterback matchup is one of the best we will see this season.
An emotional Nico Iamaleava discusses tonight’s three point rivalry win over Downey. Warren head coach Kevin Pearson called Iamaleava the “best QB in the country” after the game. pic.twitter.com/wMMjzMZudc

David Rasor David Rasor 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Corona Del Mar | 2023 State CA , Corona del Mar, 2023
It surprised me when Rasor was named the starting quarterback at Corona del Mar in the spring as a sophomore, beating out four other guys for the job. When you see Rasor play, it’s not surprising at all that he won that quarterback position. He completed 14 of 15 passes for 253 yards with four touchdowns in a 41-7 win over Paramount. He has a very accurate arm, is athletic and is a good leader of the Sea Kings’ offense. Rasor and Corona del Mar have a huge game this week against San Clemente, the best team they have played so far this season.
David Rasor played lights out (4 TD passes, rush TD) in a 41-7 win over Palos Verdes. 3 of his TDs went to Max Lane including 2 over 50 yds. @ocvarsity @CDMFOOTBALL @CDM_ATHLETICS @david_rasor18 pic.twitter.com/Uu7fSWGuV2
