Emmanuel “Jojo” Barajas had one of the best performances in Yucaipa history in the Thunderbirds’ 37-28 win over University City of San Diego. The senior running back set school-records in single-game rushing attempts and rushing yards. He ran the ball an insane 51 times for 327 yards and five touchdowns. He beat the previous rushing yards record of 320 set in 1998. Barajas has been outstanding all season for Yucaipa who is undefeated heading into its bye week before Citrus Belt league play.
Looks like 327 yards rushing by @YucaipaFootball's Emmanuel "JoJo" Barajas on 51 carries is school record, breaking mark of 320 yards set by Alan Taylor (Class of 1998). Barajas also had five TDs vs. University City in 37-28 win. That's Redlands' Pat Hafley with arms raised. pic.twitter.com/cjZrTv1n8j

Anthony Chessani, Fillmore, 2023
Fillmore won a close 17-14 win over Oak Park and it was largely due to the running game led by Chessani. He rushed for a career-high 201 yards on 18 carries and scored both of the team’s touchdowns. Chessani is on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards this season and 20 rushing touchdowns is not out of reach.

Kayden Collins, Canoga Park, 2022
Canoga Park got its first win of the season against Panorama last week. The Hunters had a great rushing attack the last two seasons led by Jorge Hernandez and Collins has taken charge as the lead running back this season. Collins rushed for 208 yards on just 12 carries with three touchdowns in the 35=14 win. It marked the third time this season that Collins has broken the 200 yard mark with a career-high of 261 coming against Garfield. He has a chance to lead the LA City Section in rushing this season.

Cameron Goods, Irvine, 2022
Goods had a record-setting night in Irvine’s 57-0 win over former league foe University. He tied a school-record for touchdowns in a single game with five. He rushed for three touchdowns, had a receiving touchdown and returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown. Irvine may be the best team in the Pacific Coast Conference and Goods always seems to be there when the Vaqueros need a big play.

Conner Rath, Poway, 2023
Everyone knew Poway would have a good passing attack this season led by one of the better underclassmen quarterbacks in San Diego County, but the running game has been performing well too. Rath had a career-night for Poway in a 55-14 win over Vista on homecoming night. He rushed for 358 yards and four touchdowns. His 358 yards may be a school-record. Rath is a big running back at 6-foot-3 and nearly 200 pounds and is one of the more fun players to watch in San Diego.
It didn't lead to a score, but @PowayFootball's Conner Rath (@conner_rath) had the best run of the night on Friday.
Spin move in the backfield, subtle cut to the near sideline to get through three defenders, and a monster stiff-arm.
