Gage Hayden– Eudora- The Cardinal quarterback bounced back in a big way, one week after a heartbreaker loss on the last play of the game against Piper. The loaded Eudora Cardinal team traveled to Bonner Springs, and Hayden showed out in a big way. Throwing two touchdown passes, Hayden also dominated on the ground going for 136 yards and 3 more touchdowns, bringing his night to 5 total touchdowns in the 48-28 win. The Cardinals look to keep winning and stay in Frontier League title contention, and have another stud in Hayden to help lead them.
Caden Rhamy Caden Rhamy 6'3" | 230 lbs | ATH Paola | 2022 State KS – Paola- Rhamy was not someone anybody expected to make these lists as a running back, but after injuries to the Panthers, Rhamy has literally took his opportunity and ran with it. Although Paola lost a tough game to Tonganoxie (more on that later), Rhamy took his 19 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown. Rhamy is still making his presence known on the defensive side, marking 6.5 tackles, a sack and 2 tackles for loss on Friday. Look for Rhamy and the Panthers to have a big bounce back this week against Ottawa at home.
Bodi Isenhower– Prairie View- Another week, another huge game for Isenhower. In a battle of two unbeaten teams, Isenhower lead the Buffaloes on the ground against Parsons and dominated to a big 38-14 win. Isenhower finished the night with 15 carries, 150 yards and 4 touchdowns. That 10 yards per carry average on that many carries is very impressive, and the Prairie View Buffaloes are showing that they are a serious contender in 3A, starting 3-0 behind the dominant run game.
Dalton Whitworth– Rock Creek- After some games fell out at the last minute, Louisburg traveled to Rock Creek high school, with both teams having limited preparation for the opponent. Whitworth took this game and took advantage of that, and lead his 3A squad to a 35-28 win over the 4A Wildcats. Whitworth was 19-29 passing the ball, with 286 yards and 3 touchdowns. If that wasn’t enough, he also added a 27 yard touchdown run. Look for the Rock Creek QB to keep dominating games over the coming weeks.
Sam Kleidosty Sam Kleidosty 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Tonganoxie | 2022 State KS – Tonganoxie- First off, all I can say here is WOW. What a game this was, and the 4th quarter was taken over by Kleidosty. As mentioned earlier, Tonganoxie got revenge from the classic game last year, and beat Paola 17-13 at home. Kleidosty was all over the field making plays, playing running back, wide receiver, and even quarterback in the wildcat formation in the last few drives. Although the individual stat categories may not blow you away, when you add them all together and take into consideration when this happened in the game, it was a very impressive performance and Kleidosty was the player of the game. In a very defensive battle, Kleidosty finished with 84 rushing yards, 56 receiving yards, and the game winning touchdown with only minutes remaining. He also made 5 big tackles in the Chieftain secondary, and Tonganoxie got a big W they needed to bounce back this season.
