Top performers
West Catholic RB Timmy Kloska Timmy Kloska 6'0" | 220 lbs | RB Grand Rapids West Catholic | 2023 State MI – Rember the name. West Catholic’s record book sure will as he just had yet another godly performance rushing for 345 yards on just 14 carries, and 6 Touchdowns. After rushing for 331 yards in week 1 against Forest Hills Eastern, Kloska is already approaching the 1,000-yard mark very quickly. Oh, he also plays defense where he had 8 tackles and a fumble recovery.
Lawton RB Jake Rueff – In a 61-0 rout of Coloma, Rueff rushed for 310 yards on just 9 carries. A truly incredible performance in a blowout win, Rueff won’t soon forget his incredible performance.
Mendon RB Evan Lukeman – In a performance for the ages, Lukeman rushed for 401 yards and 4 TD’s becoming the 5th player in Michigan 8-player football history to rush for 400+ yards. Lukeman has achieved what few have ever done, and Lukeman’s name will forever be etched into the MHSAA
Muskegon OLB Dominic Sugin – A leader on a great defensive effort for Muskegon, Sugin notched 10 tackles with a forced fumble. A key player on some huge 4th down stops, Sugin has further established himself as a force on the Big Red Defense. Muskegon won a key league matchup against Zeeland West thanks to Sugin’s efforts.
Union QB Tommy Stevens – I was extremely impressed with Stevens this past week. Against the defending state champs, Stevens threw for 178 yards and ran for 78, totaling 4 touchdowns. Watching him in person, he’s noticeably undersized but is unique in his drive and competitiveness, plus his athleticism. Hats off to Stevens for a surprising performance that made the defending state champs nervous.
