These kids being able to handle themselves vs the older talent is giving us a great look into the potential that these young dudes are just starting to scratch the surface on. Let’s dive into these standout sophomores and freshman!
Ian Andrews Ian Andrews 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Eau Claire Regis | 2024 State WI , ’24 DB/RB- Eau Claire Regis
Stat Line: 2 INTs, 4 Tackles, 1 Reception, 2 Carries totaling 40 Yards
Ian is turning himself into a lockdown DB. The 5’10″ 175 lbs sophomore is apart of the logjam tie for second in the state with 3 INTs, hauling in two of them this past week! Regis relies on a heavy use of zone coverage in their defensive backfield where Andrews can utilize his ability to quickly read and react to what’s happening in front of him. That recognition is what allowed him to collect his INTs this week as he was able to read the QB and get to where the ball was going to be before it got there. Keeping everything in front of him also gives us a look into the ’24’s ability to close and make sound tackles on receivers in space. Andrews also has naturally soft hands, and proved to be good at attacking the ball at the catch point leading to pass breakups. Once the upperclassmen talent in the offensive backfield graduates you can expect to see him making plays on that side of the ball as well. Keep an eye on this kid!

Sam Pilof, ’24 LB- Middleton
Stat Line: 6 Total Tackles, 1.5 Sacks
The 6’3’’ 205 lbs sophomore first caught my eye during my live coverage of their thrilling battle with Waunakee a few weeks ago. Since then Pilof has continued to make a huge impact off the edge for Middleton’s defense and has worked his way into being one of the most productive pass rushers this season. Sam shows off an impressive first step burst at the snap in his pass rush as he springs around the edge. His athleticism and comfort out in space also make him a very dangerous weapon on the edge. Whether in coverage or shutting down the option, Sam has the body control, agility, and acceleration to be able to make plays with ease. Pilof timed his blitzes very well this week too. Multiple times he looped around the DE perfectly after the DE cleared the path giving him the chance to use that speed to get pressure on the QB. Finally, I was impressed with Sam’s tackling. He delivers massive shots to ball handlers every chance he can. Sam has risen massively this fall. He’s a need to know athlete! Sam’s Week 4 Highlights
Drew Braam Drew Braam 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Oak Creek | 2024 State WI , ’24 LB- Oak Creek
Stat Line: 7 Total Tackles, 2 TFLs
This is my first time getting a chance to watch the 6’2″ 210 lbs sophomore ILB, and I am very impressed. Braam already plays the position like a seasoned veteran. He has a great frame to build on and his combo of athleticism and play strength are going to make him an intriguing prospect by the time fall 2023 rolls around. In this week’s film, Drew does a great job of reading and mirroring ball carriers allowing him to meet them right at the line of scrimmage where he was able to easily bring them down with his hard hitting tackles. His awareness during the play really caught my eye as well, like when he would leave his zone to meet the QB at the line because he recognized he was going to take off instead of looking to throw it. Drew is going to be an awesome chess piece in the middle of the Oak Creek defense for several years as he will be able to effect the game on all three downs. Drew’s Week 4 Highlights
Finnley Doriot Finnley Doriot 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Kaukauna | 2024 State WI , ’24 QB- Kaukauna
Stat Line: 10/18, 183 Yards, 1 TD, 5 Carries, 20 Yards
I’ve been waiting to see if Finnley was going to be able to take the reigns for a full game this season, and it finally happened here in Week 4. The 6’1″ 165 lbs sophomore QB has a quick release that allowed him to get the ball off with pressure very close and it also allowed him to hit very small, closing windows. Speaking of those small windows, Doriot was able to show off his spot on accuracy to the short and deep ranges in his film from the week. Both ranges he was able to put the ball exactly where he wanted it. Finnley also adds enough athleticism to be able to buy time in the pocket and pick up some yards on the ground, but he definitely falls under the pocket passer category. I’ll be interested to see how much more playing time he gets going forward as he works to keep developing into what looks like a solid QB prospect. Finnley’s Week 4 Highlights
Will Feuerer Will Feuerer 5'11" | 240 lbs | OL New Richmond | 2024 State WI , ’24 OL- New Richmond
Stat Line: Blocked for 346 Rushing Yards
The 5’11″ 235 lbs sophomore LT was apart of a line that mauled the Superior front seven on the way to huge numbers on the ground. Will was able to open up massive running lanes with his down blocks that rolled DL back into the second level. His double team blocks were just as effective as he and the LG were able to walk back DL in the second level again creating a lot of trash that the second level couldn’t get through to make tackles. We also got a little glimpse into Will’s range as he was able to pull down the line, lead through, and find a second level player to block. Will is going to be a very experienced OL prospect by his senior year, so make sure you have him on your radar! Will’s Week 4 Highlights
Carter Christy Carter Christy 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln | 2024 State WI , ’24 LB- Wisconsin Rapids
Stat Line: N/A
Wow it’s not very long film, but Carter’s week four highlights shows us that the future is bright for the 5’11″ 185 lbs sophomore! The edge rusher made plays in every facet of the game last Friday night. He used his burst and play speed to fly around the edge for a sack. We got to see him pick through the trash at the ILB position for a tackle along with doing a great job to wrong shoulder a kick out block on the edge before shedding the block and making the tackle. Lastly, Carter showed off his ability to play in space as he picked up the RB going into the flat and brought him down instantly after the catch for little to no gain. Watch out for this kid. Carter’s Week 4 Highlights
