In fact, the only player who managed to stay on the list is Jaden Gibson Jaden Gibson 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Rabun County | 2023 State GA , who was ranked 3rd last time around as well. What makes it hard to be at the top of this statistical category is the fact that these stats also somewhat rely on QB and OL performance. Regardless, there will always be a few prospects who manage to total an impressive amount of yards, even despite their overall team play. Below, we have the top 4 leaders in receiving yards listed, and as one could expect, Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA has found his way on the list.
Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA – Collins Hill (484 yards)
Even though he was not on our last installment, it should come as no surprise to high school football fans that Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA has found his way to the top of the receiving yards charts in GA. Besides, he is the best player in the state, while also being arguably the best player in the entire country. Even though the season is 4 weeks in, Hunter has managed to lead the entire state in receiving after only 3 games that have been played by his team. During week 1, he totaled 232 yards, and followed this performance up with only 28 receiving yards. Last week though, he had another 200+ yard game, as he totaled 224 receiving yards, only further contributing to his team’s dominance over Rome. As the year progresses, look for Hunter to continue to add to these numbers.
Danny Curran- Lassiter High (474 yards)
Curran, who is on our list for the first time, is only 10 yards off from Hunter’s 484 total receiving yards that leads the entire state. The only difference is that he has totaled these yards over 4 games, rather than 3, and his team is currently 1-3. Despite this, Curran has done his part to help his team succeed, as he averages over 118 yards a game, with 11.6 yards a catch. With this, he only has 1 TD, but due to the look of his numbers, we would be shocked if he did not continue to add on to this number.
Jaden Gibson Jaden Gibson 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Rabun County | 2023 State GA – Rabun County (459 yards)
Gibson has managed to accumulate his total of 459 yards at this point of the season through only 3 games. This is largely due to huge performances that he has had, such as his 202 yard game last week, and his 184 yard game during week 2. Before this, he only totaled 73 yards in week 1. Regardless of this, his average yards per game is very impressive, as it looks to be 153 yards a game to this point of the season. Also, to Gibson’s credit, he has also had 4 TD’s so far this year, which has been huge in his team’s 2-1 overall record. If he keeps this up, he and Rabun County will continue to roll past their competition.
Bailey Dameron- Dawson (439 yards)
Dameron, who is also finding himself on this list for the first time, is only in 4th place by 20 yards. Even despite his team’s 1-3 record, he has also become one of the bigger contributing factors for his team. So far, he has averaged about 109 yards a game, and has caught 2 TD’s. What is even more impressive about this is the fact that he has achieved this total while only making about 5-6 catches a game. To be specific, he had a total of 106 yards in week 1, 123 yards in week 2, 104 yards during week 3, and 106 yards in week 4. Because of his consistency, we fully expect Dameron to continue to be within the top 10 in the state, even despite his teams overall success.
