Another top 5 team, Oxford, fell in a huge rivalry game in North MS to Lafayette County. Due to that the top 5 has some new flavor to it this week as the large classifications begin division play this week.
1. Greenville Christian (5-1)
It took a win against then No. 1 Oak Grove last week to make a true believer out of everyone in the state of MS. Deandre Smith Deandre Smith 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Greenville Christian | 2022 State MS , Chris Bell Chris Bell 6'2" | 210 lbs | ATH Yazoo City | 2022 State MS , and Marlon Palmer combined for over 600 yards of offense to push the Saints ahead of the 6A power house in a 48-41 slugfest.
This week: vs. Riverside
2. Madison Central (3-0)
The Jags will take their undefeated record on the road to open up division play at No.8 Starkville. The Jackets and Jags has proven to be a true rivalry in Region 2-6A over the years and expect this years matchup to simply add another chapter. The bunch from Madison county should be well rested after an off week.

3. Oak Grove (2-1)
The Warriors gave Greenville Christian a run for their money in a shootout last week but came up just short. Now they must move forward as division play opens and their destiny is fully controlable.
This week: @ Warren Central
4. West Point (1-2)
The non-division portion of the schedule was as awkward as it possibly could have been for the 5A power Green Wave. Now with division play opening Coach Chambless expects things to settle into more normalcy.
This week: vs. Lafayette County
5. Ocean Springs (3-0)
The Greyhounds have been one of the most impressive teams in the state so far. Now coming off an open week they open division play on Friday. Will they be able to maintain the momentum?
This week: vs. Hancock
6. South Panola (2-1)
Coach Woods and his bunch went to the wire with Clarksdale last week but ultimately escaped 24-20 winners. Now attention turns to Region 1-6A which can be expected to get very crowded.
This week: @ Hernando
7. West Jones (2-1)
Wingfield was no match last week as West Jones had their way easily 38-0. The schedule begins to toughen up this week.
This week: vs. Brookhaven
8. Starkville (4-0)
The Yellow Jackets make their first appearance in the rankings for 2021 with one of the youngest teams in 6A North. 28-23 winners over Louisville last week, Coach Chris Jones guys have to be ready as Madison Central comes to town.
This week: vs. #2 Madison Central
9. D’Iberville (4-0)
Another new addition to the rankings this week, D’Iberville knocked Picayune out of the top 10 by defeating them 27-13 last week. A trip to Biloxi is next up on the table.
This week: @ Biloxi
10. Oxford (2-2)
The last two weeks have not been kind to the Chargers. Lafayette County knocked them off last week and surely left a bad taste in the mouth. Division play is here though and it’s time to buckle down.
