The state continues to produce some of the best players and athletes across the country and we’re seeing record-breaking performances just about every weekend to start this 2021 season. Week 5 saw some of the state’s best prospects do exactly what they’re supposed to do. Dominate.
Here are some of the top offensive performances from week 5 in Georgia….
Justice Haynes Justice Haynes 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Buford | 2023 State GA – Running Back – Blessed Trinity
Arguably the top overall back in Georgia, Haynes showed why he should be in the five-star conversation in the 2023 class after a near perfect performance on the ground against a very talented Eagles Landing Christian team. The 5-foot-10 185-pounder from Roswell dominated from the start in a big 24-21 win, rushing 34 times for 356 yards and 3 touchdowns. One of the touchdowns came on a long 95-yard run where he broke multiple tackles around the line of scrimmage and then took off down the field for the score. He has tremendous feet and runs with power between the tackles while having enough speed to get to the edge. Coming off an incredible sophomore season last year, Haynes has picked up right where he left off and will push for the state rushing title once again this fall. He’s lead the Titans to a 3-2 record so far this season.
The Week 5 Offensive Player of the Week sponsored by @ansley_re is BT Running Back Justice Haynes. @justicehaynes6 had 356 yards and 3 TD's on 36 carries in Blessed Trinity's 24-21 win over ELCA. What a monster night for this superstar. Congrats! #TCA21 pic.twitter.com/wX2KAnuTfg

Ethan Nation Ethan Nation 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Roswell | 2023 State GA – ATH – Roswell
Ranked as one of the top defensive backs in the state, the playmaker from Roswell has made an impact in all three phases of the game this year and may have had his best game on Friday night. The athletic junior helped the Hornets offense with 5 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-21 win over Campbell. Nation showed his elite ball skills and speed as he was just too much to handle for the Campbell defense. Nation took a short pass the distance after breaking a tackle and taking off down the sideline. He eluded defenders with ease, zig-zagging his way to yards throughout the night. He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands and showed why he’s one of the state’s best on Friday night. Still one of the best DBs in the state, Nation proved that he’s also one of the best two-way players you’ll find in North Georgia. The 5-foot-11 170-pounder has now led the Hornets to a 4-0 record and has made a big impact in every victory. Nation holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, among others.

Damari Alston Damari Alston 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB Woodward Academy | 2022 State GA – Running Back – Woodward Academy
The future Auburn Tiger running back couldn’t be stopped last Friday night as he ran all over Mundys Mill on the way to a 55-13 win. He ran with speed, with power, and a nose for the endzone. The 5-foot-10 205-pounder rushed for 219 yards and 5 touchdowns on the night, running hard behind his pads and breaking lots of tackles on the way to victory. He showed great vision and knows how to put his foot in the ground and get upfield. Once he got through the line of scrimmage, there weren’t many on the Mundy Mill who had a chance to bring him down. He runs well in open space and has enough speed to outrun most defenders. He showed great balance as well with excellent feet on the sideline. There’s a lot to like about Alston’s game, and like Haynes, he could be pushing for the rushing title later this fall. He’s rushed for 490 yards and nine touchdowns through the first four games of the season.
