Week 6 Power Rankings

Large school classifications saw week 1 of division play come and go last week and a Starkville victory over Madison Central dominated the news. Let’s now look forward to what Week 6 holds.
1. Greenville Christian (6-1)
The Saints pitched a shutout last week against Riverside and now look forward to a big test this week at Jackson Academy. Greenville Christian has rolled since a loss in Georgia a few weeks back.

2. Ocean Springs (4-0)
The Greyhounds knocked off Hancock 45-21 last week on the back of three more touchdowns from Bray Hubbard Bray Hubbard 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Ocean Springs | 2023 State MS . Possibly the toughest test so far is on deck at D’Iberville this week.

3. Starkville (5-0)
The Yellow Jackets simply do not lose at home. 44 straight home wins dating back to 2015 for Starkville after knocking off Madison Central last week. A star has emerged at QB for the Jackets in Trey Petty.

4. Oak Grove (3-1)
The Warriors returned to their winning ways against Warren Central last week. Kabe Barnett Kabe Barnett 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2022 State MS is the key to whatever the future holds.

5. West Point (2-2)
The Green Wave got the better of Lafayette County last week, 17-0, in what has become a huge rivalry in Region 1-5A. The jury is still out as to what this West Point offense can be.

6. Madison Central (3-1)
The Jags fell at Starkville last week and the result is falling to number 6 in this weeks rankings. Everyone would love to see another matchup with the Jackets come playoff time.

7. South Panola (3-1)
The Tigers have won every time they’ve actually got on the field this year. Winners 25-9 over Hernando last week, expect South Panola to remain in the thick of things in 6A north.

8. West Jones (3-1)
The Mustangs defense is elite. Only 2 points have been given up since dropping a decision to Madison Central nearly a month ago.

9. D’Iberville (5-0)
Don’t look now but the Warriors are very quietly 5-0 and aren’t getting the love they deserve. They play in the game of the week against Ocean Springs.

10. Oxford (3-2)
The Charger defense showed out last Friday shutting out Murrah. The offense still has kinks to work out, but the talent is there.
