In a game loaded with D1 talent, it was the high-powered Mill Creek offense and key plays on special teams that helped them secure a 38-10 win. Mill Creek looked like one of the top teams in the state and are off to a big 4-0 start to the season. They’re balanced in all three phases of the game and really shined on special teams, making multiple game-changing plays in that part of the game. The Wolverines are ending a tough stretch to start the season and will enter region play with two losses, with both coming to really impressive North Georgia programs.
Here are some top performers from Mill Creek’s win over West Forsyth…
Caleb Downs Caleb Downs 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Mill Creek | 2023 State GA – ATH – Mill Creek
One of the top 2023 defensive backs across the country, Downs proved why he’s one of the top defenders in Georgia regardless of class. The 6-foot-0 185-pound safety was all over the field and made plays on both defense, offense, and special teams. Downs had two giant punt returns in the game that switched the field and put the Mill Creek offense in a great position to score points. He’s instinctive, physical, and has a knack for making big plays. He’s great against the run and can sniff out the ball carrier before he can get his run going. He’s also going to leave a bruise when he makes a tackle as well. He was great in coverage all night and came away with a handful of tackles. He has a true nose for the football and shows up somewhere on every play. He also showed great speed, agility, and playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. As good as he was as a defender, Downs also came in and ran for a touchdown on offense. He’s a true “football guy” who just makes a play no matter where he’s lined up.
Oscar Delp Oscar Delp 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2022 State GA – TE – West Forsyth
It may have come in a losing effort, but the West Forsyth tight end proved why he’s one of the best in the country for his position. He had a handful of short catches as the Mill Creek defense double-covered him as much as possible throughout the night. A big target at 6-foot-4 225-pounds, Delp is one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the country and an excellent route runner for his size. He’s dangerous on shorter, underneath routes as he picks up a lot of yards after the catch. He has big, reliable hands and he’s great on the sideline and in the redzone as well. He’s been a touchdown machine so far this season but wasn’t able to find the endzone. He still found a way to catch 6 passes for 45 yards. He was also great in the run game and opened up a few holes on the edge for the Wolverine backs.
Peyton Streko – RB – West Forsyth
One of the breakout backs in Georgia so far this year, the junior back is coming off a career game against Walton where he rushed for over 250 yards and 6 touchdowns. He got the ball often against Mill Creek, and while he didn’t make the explosive runs he did in the previous week, he still found a way to make an impact out of the backfield. The Wolverines struggled on offense throughout the night, but Streko still found a way to get into the endzone. He’s a good runner out of the backfield, but he’s also a reliable option in the passing game. Overall, Streko carried the ball 18 times for 50 yards and caught three passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Another game, another TD for West Forsyth (GA) RB Peyton Streko (@StrekoPeyton). Having a monster season so far.

Brendan Jenkins – WR – Mill Creek
One of the more underrated WRs in the region, Jenkins is out to prove himself this year as a junior and came away with one of the plays of the game. Late in the 3rd quarter, Jenkins casually snagged a one-handed touchdown that was beautifully thrown by QB Hayden Clark. The two-sport star has good size and showed tremendous ball skills on that reception. As hard as that play was to make, Jenkins made it look easy. If Mill Creek wants to make a big 7A title run, they’re going to need Jenkins to continue making big plays just like that one.
.@BMJenkins13 with the ONE-HANDED catch 🙌 for the TD
