Each and every week, there have been some impressive games that we have spotlighted as games to watch – and many have lived up to that pre-game hype.
With district games taking place along with some contests that every football fan wanted to see, this promises to be another exciting week across the Sunshine State.
CHECK OUT THESE 10 GAMES
If you live anywhere in the Sunshine State, there are some games that you will need to attend – to not see outstanding football, but to also support these hard-working players and coaches.
Where are you headed today?
No. 3 Tampa Jesuit (5-0) at Clearwater Central Catholic (4-1). While the Tigers are still one of the premier teams in the state – with a couple of signature wins, this is always game that will grab the attention. Both teams are well coached and stacked with players. Tampa Jesuit remains a huge favorite here and are poised to make a huge run in 6A.
No. 8 Plantation American Heritage (2-2) at No. 19 Jacksonville Trinity Christian (5-1). Two teams that had much different emotions after last week – with the Patriots beating highly-rated Cardinal Gibbons on the last play of the game, while Trinity Christian was hammered by 4A power Jacksonville Bolles. American Heritage lost to the Conquerors last season and still remember that 3-0 game.
Miami Edison (4-1) at No. 9 Niceville (6-0). On the surface, the Eagles are a HUGE favorite here – and have won 25 of the past 27 games – including during the regular season where they hardly lose at all. The Red Raiders make the 629 mile trip – and as Chaminade-Madonna found out in Buford, Georgia and Sanford, Florida – anything can happen when both schools are loaded with talent.
Clearwater Academy International (5-1) at No. 13 Jacksonville Bolles (6-0). If the Bulldogs didn’t crush Trinity Christian last week, more interest would follow this game, especially because this is a program that can score point, but so can Bolles, who is right now the top 4A team in Florida!
Lithia Newsome (5-1) at No. 16 Tampa Bay Tech (5-0). Another of those games where Tampa Bay Tech is a heavy favorite – after getting off to a tremendous start. But like so many teams in this competitive state, you can never let your guard down – especially when both teams have talent and are well coached.
No. 18 Lynn Haven Mosley (5-0) at Navarre (3-1). Interesting matchup here – with two teams that are looking to make some noise before the playoffs begin. The Dolphins have really made a major statement in the first six games of the season, averaging over 40 points per game. The Raiders are also talented – with a number of young and promising players ready to make an impact.
No. 25 Apopka (4-1) at No. 22 Lakeland (4-1). Interesting matchup here with two of Florida’s most impressive programs that each lost that one game to a team that they were familiar with. This is one of those matchups that will showcase two different style teams that have high hopes and making a solid run at a state appearance.
No. 24 Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast (3-1) at Pahokee (4-1). This is another game that will feature some impressive athletes on both sides of the ball. While this is a 1A vs. 8A matchup, you may have to check the Blue Devils’ past, where they would routinely go head-to-head with some of the nation’s major powers. It should be entertaining as the Titans do not want to get caught looking ahead to the district showdown with Vero Beach next week.
South Fort Myers (5-0) at Fort Myers Dunbar (4-0). While the Wolfpack are young and doing some things that many never expected after five games, Dunbar has been looking forward to this season since last year ended in the 6A playoffs. Key game that will thrust the winner into a spotlight that will continue to get brighter as each week passes.
Lake Worth Park Vista (5-0) at Palm Beach Central (5-0). An 8A showdown between the two hottest teams in Palm Beach County, as all eyes will be on this game as it will tell a lot when the seedings are announced in the next month for the state playoffs. Two well coached teams with a lot of talent and plenty of promise for a banner 2021 season.
