October is a big month at Prep Redzone Oklahoma. Now that we’re at the halfway point of the regular season, we have a good idea of what’s going on across the state. So it’s a perfect time to update the prospect rankings throughout the various classes, and for the 2025 group, it’s time to launch the first watch list. While we could put a ranking out for the 2025 group, we just don’t think it’s right considering these prospects have AT BEST six games of varsity experience and for some, it’s less. So for now, we’ve launched the first 2025 Watch List, which will be updated to rankings later on. And in this feature, we take a look at some of the standouts who would be ranked high considering they are having fantastic starts to their first year in high school. Stay tuned to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more content on the 2025 class. And check back every Monday, when we update the rankings for the 2024, 2023 and 2022 classes!

– Running Back – Edmond Santa Fe
One of the very first freshmen we got a chance to see in person was Edmond Santa Fe’s

. In fact, it was our first time out this fall at the Union scrimmages and mini games back in August and Robinson was scooting in between defenders and making plays out of nothing. We looked down at the roster and was very surprised to see that this was a freshman making plays. Edmond Santa Fe had a legitimate two-headed monster at running back a year ago as they made plays throughout the season but both graduated. The Wolves were primed to be a very pass-first offense this year considering their personnel but Robinson changed that idea very fast. In his last game against Westmoore in week five, Robinson ran for nearly 200 yards and five touchdowns. So far this season, Robinson has appeared in four games (according to the Santa Fe Maxpreps page) and has ran for at least 150 yards in each game. He’s also scored at least one touchdown in all four games and has ten touchdowns on the season. Santa Fe came into this season with hopes of making another trip to the state championship game and with the emergence of Robinson at running back, they have a legitimate shot behind an offense that is completely balanced and can put up a ton of points every single week.

. While every other prospect in this feature is on the offensive side of the ball, Strother is the only one who has made a name for himself on defense. He’s similar to a few other 2025 prospects where we’ve been hearing his name on social media and to “look out” for this guy as he hits the varsity field. For a good number of those prospects, it doesn’t work out. While it’s still incredibly early, Strother looks like a legitimate prospect at the linebacker spot. He’s seen plenty of action for Beggs on the defensive side of the ball. At 6’1 and over 200 pounds, Strother has primarily played as an inside linebacker or even the middle linebacker for a Beggs defense. The majority of his film is making tackles in the open field and stopping the run. If Strother starts adding some skills in the pass defense department, he’ll be one to watch out for throughout the next three years. He’s going to get an opportunity to showcase those potential skills this week. Beggs comes to Tulsa to take on two-time defending champion Metro Christian and that’s a team that will want to throw the ball all over the field behind junior quarterback

– Offensive Lineman – Jenks
Let’s go to the line of scrimmage for our next prospect and we head to the top ranked team in 6A-1 with the Jenks Trojans. There has been a lot of hype around the emergence of freshman quarterback

within the Jenks offense but the Trojans have not one, but two freshmen starting on that side of the ball. Blocking for his fellow 2025 prospect is offensive lineman

. Coming into the year, we’ve heard about Jones and that he had the potential to join Reisig as a starter this year for the Trojans and so far, he’s backed up all of the preseason hype. During the game against Broken Arrow in week five, we made it a point to watch the young lineman up close to see how he did against a tough Broken Arrow squad. He started at left guard and has the size for the guard spot right now at 6’1 and 270 pounds. However, he could very well continue growing and move around to a few positions. Jones held his own and was a part of a Jenks offensive line that opened up holes for their two-headed monster at running back. As of right now, Jones is the runaway favorite for top offensive lineman in the class because he’s the only OL prospect on the 2025 watch list.

came into this season with all kinds of hype from people who saw him and knew what to expect coming into what has been a breakout season for the young freshman. Standing 6’0 and weighing 180 pounds, Larry already looks the part at the running back position. While we haven’t seen him in person, we have seen film and it’s hard to imagine anyone bringing Larry down in a 1 on 1 situation. He’s the perfect combination of size and speed where he will absolutely run you over but he can also run away from you. Idabel has been dominant over the last few weeks and a big reason has been their freshman phenom. In their week five victory, Larry ran for north of 300 yards and three touchdowns. He has Idabel as a legitimate threat to Antlers and Eufaula in that district. Then when you look at Class 2A overall, if Idabel gets into the playoffs and if Larry gets loose, they could end up going further than anyone would have predicted back in August. We’re telling you right now, Larry is the real deal and this could be just the start of a very special career for the southern Oklahoma sensation.
Stay tuned to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more content on the state’s 2025 class. We’ll continue the series with part two of the 2025 standouts feature and then later this week, we’ll take a look at the quarterbacks who have shined so far as freshmen!
