Kaiser Williams – Wide Receiver – Piedmont High School
If having to defend the shifty speed of freshman teammate Ethan Shelton wasn’t enough, opposing defenses will also have to deal with the play making ability of Williams as well at Piedmont. The ideal complement to Shelton, Williams is a 6-foot-4, 170-pound specimen who moves surprisingly well for an athlete his size at his age. Considering how long he is, there’s no awkward or wasted movement when he explodes off the line. Also, a 110-meter track guy, Williams is a smooth, long-strider who easily creates separation from defensive backs. At his size and with his ability, he will continue to be a quarterback’s best friend because all they’ll have to do is throw it remotely near him and Williams will come down with it.
Malikai Miller Malikai Miller 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Moore | 2025 State OK – Quarterback – Edmond Santa Fe
One of four freshmen on the Wolves varsity roster this fall, Miller has the potential to be special. Widely considered to be the top dual-threat quarterback in the state for the class of 2025, he has a big time arm and the type of wirey frame that looks like there could easily be another 20-30 pounds of muscle added onto it. Watching his 8th grade film he makes passes look effortless, highlighted by a 35-yard pass on a rope while rolling to his right. With Miller and “Man Man” in the backfield for the next four years, it looks like Edmond Santa Fe has their own version of the M n’ M Boys.
Tariek Johnson – Running Back – Owasso High School
The recent running back tradition at Owasso is certainly a strong one with Isaiah Jacobs (three-star, currently at Maryland) Emaud Triplett Emaud Triplett 6'1" | LB Owasso | 2021 State OK (now playing linebacker at Army), and current starter, class of 2022 prospect Derrick Overstreet Derrick Overstreet 5'7" | RB Owasso | 2022 State OK . However, buying his time is freshman Tariek Johnson. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound two-way player is cut from a very similar mold to the aforementioned Triplett. He’s a powerful back that is a load to bring down between the tackles and nightmare for smaller defensive backs to bring down when he’s square to the line of scrimmage in space. Like some of the other players on this list, he may transition to be more of a linebacker in due time because of his physicality but to this point he’s dangerous on both sides of the ball.
Vidal Ortiz – Wide Receiver/Tight End – Westmoore High School
In the age of spread offenses, mismatches and the ever-evolving role of a tight end, Ortiz appears to check a lot of boxes for today’s game. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, he spent much of his middle school ball set out wide receiver where he was a constant mismatch with his height and length. During his 8th grade season, he was also a dominant outside linebacker and used his long arms to shed blocks and swallow up offenses. Now in high school, he has moved inside to the tight end position where his blocking ability has really picked up. It’s obvious he’s spent significant time in the weight room as he displays a lot of strength on the field.
Ryan Grayson Ryan Grayson 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Beggs | 2025 State OK – Running Back – Beggs High School
In Grayson, Beggs has a home run threat every time the ball in his hands. Grayson is a long strider who is equally slippery as he is fast. The explosive freshman can dunk a basketball from a standing position and is also a standout defensive back. In fact, long term he could easily transition into a safety or a Richard Sherman-like cornerback who just absolutely blankets receivers. Back to the offensive side of the ball, he trusts his speed and likes to bust things to the sideline where he glides past defenders. He has soft hands, good ball skills and I can see him possibly getting time at receiver in the future as well. Grayson will be the perfect lightning compliment to the thunder of 2024 running back, Red Martell in the Beggs Demon backfield.
