What has been a region that has produced its share of talent through the years, the communities in and around Orlando have been able to turn up the volume year-round and has started to churn out prospects that are landing at some of the top college programs in the country.
In addition, you will find more instruction, camps and events that have brought the level of talent up several notches.
With this region now firmly on the recruiting map, the focus today is on the defensive secondary where several elite prospects have been landing at programs throughout the country.
As the current senior class has boasted some impressive talent, the underclassmen have also started to jump on the radar screen as well.
Today, we check out some of the fast-rising junior (Class of 2023) defensive backs. Here are 5 to keep an eye on:
Ethon Cole, CB, 6-2, 185, Lake Minneola. Taking part in the road to the state title game last season, here is a gifted talent that has been able to showcase his skills this season – as well as the off-season, where his appearances caught the attention of college coaches as well as fellow prospects. This is a big, physical and agile football talent with a tremendous future.

Joseph Evans, S, 6-2, 180, Orlando Olympia. On a team that continues to churn pout some offensive playmakers, the Titans also boast a football talent like this. One who has tremendous cover skills as well as using his large frame to make plays. Physical secondary performers like this are definitely in demand, and as he continues to mature and play this game, you will see how he will improve and watch his game change for the better.

Jayden Gillens Jayden Gillens 5'10" | 175 lbs | OL Orlando Jones | 2023 FL , CB, 5-10, 180, Orlando Jones. Watch this impressive talent play this game and you are sold. He is athletic, quick, skilled and physical. You will rarely see him back down against anyone, and that is the reason that college coaches have been all over this talented performer. His skill level is impressive, but his ceiling is something that everyone is watching. Comes up huge in the bigger games. Very fun to watch play.

Braeden Marshall Braeden Marshall 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Lake Mary | 2023 State FL , CB, 5-11, 180, Lake Mary. On A team that has soared to the top this season, there are many reasons why – and this quality performer is certainly one of the reasons why the Rams have come up big every week. Watch him play and you can see right away how gifted this talented young man is. Great skill and athleticism which adds up to making those plays that turns the tide in games. He will be interesting to watch as the natural maturity continues to take place. Passionate about this game.

Bo Mascoe Bo Mascoe 5'9" | 170 lbs | DB Kissimmee Osceola | 2023 State FL , CB, 5-11, 170, Kissimmee Osceola. After watching his dad and brother play, you would expect nothing less than what this young man has displayed the past two years. He is one of the toughest secondary performers to catch a ball against. He is physical, athletic, skilled and has a feel for the position and how to play it at another level. After watching him three times live and at several camps and combines, there is no doubting that he is one of the best in Florida – in any class.
