Benjamin Russell is a team that never gives up, no matter what. They always tend to have very good athletes come through that program and will continue that tradition for years to come. Benjamin Russell versus Pelham High School was a very close matchup that came down to the wire. I can not tell you how many times I was wowed by the great performances on both sides of the ball by this Benjamin Russell high school football team. I am eager to see what this program has coming in the future in preparation of winning more games.

Offense
The Benjamin Russell high school football team’s purpose for this game was to put good offensive numbers to work on defense. Benjamin Russell was led by quarterback Gabriel Benton, who had 16 completions on 31 attempts for 228 yards. Benjamin Russell was averaging 14.3 yards per carry, and throughout the day he was very explosive with huge plays that showed a lot of athletic ability. Gabriel had a 44-yard pass that turned the game really fast with excitement from the coaching staff, the team, and fans. Benjamin Russell’s offensive line held up throughout the whole game very well and allowed so many passageways for running back Demarcus McNeal. Demarcus was a huge asset to the Benjamin Russell Wildcats’ office, as he had 13 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown in the game versus the Pelham Panthers. This kid, Demarcus, was a very physical and strong runner for the Wildcats. With Demarcus’s size, he was able to maneuver through many blocks and break tons of tackles to get up and down the field. The Wildcats’ office was also highlighted by a top performer with Corri Miller. This kid was a very electrified and stout route runner for this offensive unit. I have seen this wide receiver have nine receptions for 145 yards, averaging 16.1 yards per attempt, and a long 44 yards catching the ball from quarterback Gabriel Benton.
Gabriel Benton, QB-smooth round here with the ability to hit a target on the fly and allows his receivers to get open. Very aggressive running the ball and challenges the defensive scheme by picking out certain target points to make big plays. This kid plays really big and shows a lot of athleticism playing quarterback.
Demarcus McNeal, RB-excellent speed around the age, really good reads behind the line of scrimmage, explosive, and excellent blocking to protect the quarterback. Demarcus is a very good ball handler who can really be more than just a running back but has the ability to do what is needed.
Corri Milliner, WR-Milliner has soft hands when catching a pass, and also has very good body control running routes that put his hands in a great position to catch a ball from the quarterback. He also focuses very well on the ball when he catches it from touch to finish.
