Mason Rus – Kirtland – RB – 6’0″ 180 lbs
Rus was fantastic on Friday. It was my first opportunity to watch him and he impressed in a big way. He was their workhorse on Friday and he looked great. He’s big, strong, and explosive. He shoots through a cannon and churns his legs. He found the endzone early on Friday on a 40-yard run where he broke 4 tackles. He also later broke a huge run where he got the corner and turned on the jets.
Javin Richards – Perry – RB/OLB – 6’2″ 175 lbs
Richards is Perry’s change of pace back but he’s a heck of a talent in his own right. Perry will line him up at WR as well. He’s able to make most catches and go over the middle without an issue. He was able to break multiple tackles and pick up extra yardage on just about every time he touches the ball.
Drew Allar Drew Allar 6'5" | 215 lbs | QB Medina | 2022 State OH – Medina – QB – 6’5″ 217 lbs
In a game that was nationally televised, the star QB put on a show. Allar looked fantastic on Friday and he made every throw. He’s big, strong, comfortable in the pocket, and a threat with his legs. He can do it all and the team revolves around him. He snuck 1 in for a TD early in the game. He also threw for 4 TDs and led Medina to another win. They’re still undefeated and the future Penn State QB is doing exactly what he needs to every week.
Jake Elly – Riverside – WR – 5’11″ 170 lbs
Elly was a man on a mission on Friday. He’s great in the slot and he thrives with the ball in his hands. They like to use him over the middle of the field and see what he can do with the ball. Friday, he was able to take a Post route over the middle and take it down for 75-yards and score a touchdown. He finished the night with 11 catches, 120-yards, and a TD. He’s dynamic and shifty and was a ton of fun to watch.
Curtis Thomas – SB/SS – Eastlake – 5’9″ 150 lbs
Thomas is extremely fast and very dynamic. He accelerates in a flash and is hard to bring down once he gets to full speed. They like to use him in the return game as well because he’s always able to set them up with decent field position. He broke a long run and broke 3 tackles and made a defender look silly as he slid past Thomas. Thomas finished the night with just under 200 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.
