The FBU National Championship tournament celebrates and promotes youth football through uniting all-star athletes of all backgrounds from across the United States in a true, one-of-a-kind national tournament. The only national football tournament of its kind, the annual FBU National Championship crowns a national champion from brackets in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.
This past weekend at Nelson Field, team Austin held its most recent tryout for the FBU National Championship. Austin has traditionally had a pretty tough run in the tournament as the Texas region is loaded with traditional powerhouses such as Dallas and Houston. This year Austin will have to compete with a tough Mississippi squad as well in the Midwest bracket, but judging by some of the athletes that showed out at the tryout, this team has some very promising pieces. If you missed Part One, please go back to check that out. Here is Part Two of our 8th grade (Class of 2026) standouts.
Michael Dennis | 8th Grade – Class of 2026 | Edge
Dennis was excellent on essentially every drill the defensive line/linebackers went through. He was strong, fast and agile and able to get around blocks in a snap. The S.C. Lee Junior High School athlete has the potential to be a big difference maker for Austin.
Jorian Guinn | 8th Grade – Class of 2026 | Athlete
Guinn was the interception king during 7 on 7’s with at least two interceptions during those drills. He was opportunistic to say the least and excellent at reading the quarterback and where the play was going to develop. Looks for the Boles Middle Schooler to see time at a bunch of different positions on both sides of the ball.
Aden Taylor | 8th Grade – Class of 2026 | Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Taylor was the receiver on the highlight pass thrown from Rees Wise Rees Wise 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2026 State TX . The Cedar Valley Middler School athlete ran his route perfectly but also pursued the ball with tenacity and showcased his excellent hands to catch a tough throw in the corner of the endzone with tight coverage. Both Wise and Taylor could be a dynamic duo for Austin.
Tyson Park | 8th Grade – Class of 2026 | Running Back/Linebacker
Park was excellent during drills especially in the defensive spot going against the receivers. The Hill Country Middle schooler was able to maintain great footwork and stop receivers in their tracks. On the other hand, he is also fast and powerful with the ball as well and is great at avoiding tackles.
