The Homewood High School Patriots have a strong group of defensive players on their team. The Homewood Patriots defense is a very physical and aggressive defense, but the size is not what a typical defense will look like. Homewood high school plays with so much passion and energy in their games that allows them to stick with anything that comes their way. Homework shows so many relentless efforts to stop the offensive run and past games. I truly believe that the Patriots’ defense has a lot of potential prospects within their core that make up the difference that helps the team succeed at the end of the day.
Defense Report
The Homewood High School Patriots’ defense is a swarming defense that gets to the ball no matter where it is on the field. They show that they want to create big plays on every play. Homewood High School is averaging such a good tackling rate per game with the talent they have in the secondary as well as the defensive line. The Patriots put up about 70.7 tackles per game with the help of a lot of great athletes within their program, such as linebacker Henry Watson, who has a total of 70 tackles already in the regular season. Henry is a very explosive linebacker who fills in the gaps for the Patriots during critical and non-critical times on defense. Henry has the size and ability to play downhill as a perfect fit in any gap. This kid shows so much of a top prospect that he puts a lot of pressure on a quarterback, causing him to throw interceptions, drop fumbles, and much more. The patron defense also has a great secondary with Brian Condon and Owen Isenhower. These two athletes hold the fork down in the secondary of the patriot defense. Watching Brian film when he is creating plugs and taking on blocks so that other teammates can potentially make tackles. Brian is such a team player, and it shows all over the field. When watching both Bryant and Owen, this dynamic duo creates so much of a problem for an offense unit. The fact that Owen has a total of 28 tackles and 25 solo tackles is really impressive, especially with two pass deflections on the season. Every week, these two gentlemen show why they are prospects in the state of Alabama each game. Not only in the secondary but also the defensive line is stacked, but one person that stood out to me and with a close evaluation of film study, Michael Ngei, is a guy that anyone would love to have on their team. Michael rushes the quarterback very well with his strength and abilities and also the flexibility to get under a block with excellent technique. Michael also has 21 solo tackles for a total of 37 tackles, causing multiple fumbles and recovering them as well. Getting to know all of these athletes is eye-opening in a way that shows the amount of talent this defense has and how much of a threat they are to an offense.
