Kabe Barnett Kabe Barnett 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2022 State MS | Oak Grove
There has never been a question of athleticism with Barnett. Wiry frame that is over 6″0 tall that moves fluidly and in control. Barnett has played much more comfortably in the pocket as a SR and has a new found poise that allows him to play with more comfort. The Oak Grove signal caller seems more in command of his arm and has progressed from 2020 to 2021 as a passer of the football. The ground game is and will always be a key part to the game with Barnett but he now can win evenly with legs and arm. As far as the season goes for Oak Grove, Barnett is the key on the offensive end for Coach Drew Causey. Projection is still at WR for Barnett at the next level although he is more of a QB prospect now than he was a year ago.
Zach Wilcke Zach Wilcke 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Hernando | 2022 State MS | Hernando
The Hernando QB pulled the trigger on a commitment to Southern Miss in April of 2021 and has not turned back since. At 6″3, 195lbs, Wilcke looks the part and has developed as a passer in 2021. Wilcke has been a bright spot for a Hernando team that has struggled to a 2-5 start out of the gate in one of the toughest divisions in Mississippi. The SR QB doesn’t wow with athleticism but makes up for it with pocket awareness. Good feet mechanics allow him to navigate thru progressions crisply and get the ball out on time. Throwing motion continues to be a bit long but can be refined.
There is no doubt that the right two guys were chosen to represent Mississippi in the All-Star game matchup against Alabama which will take place in December.
