Payton Eben Payton Eben WR Canton | 2022 State | ATH | Canton (SD) (2022)
Stat Line: 190 all-purpose yards, two touchdowns. Two punts, 46.5 yards per punt.
Holy cow does this young man have a lot of useful skillsets on the football field. Last game Eben averaged nearly 47 yards per punt and based on his tape, seems to have a booming leg on a consistent basis. Off of special teams, you get a young man that can power thru high traffic areas and will gain you solid yards after contact. Eben also has a good balance with his body in and around the sidelines. With so many skill sets to show off, I was expecting Eben to have an offer by now, but is still in waiting for that first offer. Should be a strong athlete at the Division II level.
Matthew Larson | RB | Rapid City St. Thomas More (2023)
Stat Line: 25 carries, 289 rushing yards, four touchdowns. Defense: Two interceptions, and nine tackles.
Larson posted an excellent game in Week 8 in a 35-13 win over Belle Fourche. No tape available yet on Matthew as just a sophomore, but this young man has a good football pedigree as his older brother, was a solid linebacker in the Class of 2021, and is a Northern State signee. Looking forward to seeing his tape from especially this game, but this season too as the Cavaliers come into Week 9 with a 5-2 record and are receiving votes in the most recent 11B media poll.

Landon Carter | WR/DB | Cavalier (ND) (2023
Stat Line: 3 receptions, 71 receiving yards, two touchdowns. Defense: 8 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, one interception, one fumble recovery.
A first-timer on our Big Dogs of the Week, it was a terrific week for Cavaliers two-way player, Landon Carter. He logged nearly 24 yards per catch along while on his way to two touchdowns for the Cavalier Tornadoes. He was absolutely no slouch on the defensive side of the ball either, as if you look at the stats above, you can tell without last week’s game tape that this young man filled up the defensive stat sheet from a significant amount of categories.

Brady Bierema | RB | Avon (SD) (2023)
Stat Line: 30 carries, 306 rushing yards, four touchdowns.
Bierema and the last undefeated team in 9B, logged one heck of a stat line in Week 8 in a 76-42 win against Centerville. Do not be fooled by this young man’s size because regardless of it, when you can average over 10 yards per carry you’re doing something right. The Avon Pirates face a tough test in Week 9 going up against the #5 ranked team in 9B, Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots (6-2) in what looks to be one of the top games in 9-man football in South Dakota as they enter the final week of the regular season.
Lucas Hueser | ATH | Elk Point-Jefferson (SD) (2023)
Stat Line: 7.5 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and one fumble recovery. Offense: 12 carries, 97 yards, two touchdowns.
Hueser was another prospect on this list that filled it up in Week 8 on both sides of the football! He’s a solid straight-line runner up the gut. Shows off some good speed when working in between his offensive line. Also shows good patience. I believe Hueser can develop even stronger speed going into the offseason. Would love to see more tape on this young man over the coming weeks as the Huskies close out their season against Parker (1-6) and should finish their season 6-2 going into the 11B playoffs as a possible sleeper.
Matthew Goehring | WR/LB | Sioux Falls Roosevelt (2022)
Stat Line: Four receptions, 99 receiving yards, one touchdown.
There is a heck of a lot to like about Goehring’s game tape this season on both sides of the ball. Starting with offense, I love this kid’s fearless demeanor to go over the middle of the field and make a great catch. Not only that, but this young man brings great speed and size (6’1 205) which as you can see on tape, he can blow off contact with ease with his tough-well put-together lower body. Looking at his tape defensively, holy macarole I love watching his motor go to work. Watching him read the football and use his vision is one of his best skillsets. He’s also a big-time crasher into the backfield. Goehring is a quarterback’s worst nightmare as on several tapes I watched, as he aggressively punishes all ends of the backfield. From what my eyes can see on Matt’s tapes, this kid is a big-flyer under the radar and should see his recruiting pick up soon!
