In this article:
Name: Scottland Dover Scottland Dover 6'4" | 305 lbs | OL Shelby Middle | 2026 SC
Position: Offensive Line/Defensive Line
School: Shelby Middle School
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 276 pounds
Scouting Report: I’m on record saying that he is the most disruptive 8th grade. two-way lineman, to come out of the greater Charlotte area since Curtis Neal Curtis Neal 6'2" | 310 lbs | DL Hough | 2022 State NC played his youth ball. Neal, a 6-foot-2, 310-pound, four-star Wisconsin Badger commit was unblockable on the defensive line during his middle school days, and was so athletic he could have played running back on the offensive side. Dover is absolutely no different, but his home is certainly on the line.
Standing 6-foot-3 and 276 pounds his size alone makes him one of the most dominant athletes in the class of 2026. On the offensive side of the ball, what separates him from other big bodies is his football IQ. The straight A student’s biggest strength is being able to call out blocking assignments at the line and can quickly adjust if the defense shows something different. At his own admission he knows there is room to improve when driving down and not giving up the inside, while still worrying about the edge rushers.
Defensively he is versatile to play inside or on the end depending on scheme. Regardless of where he lines up across the front, he demands a double team and that’s usually still not enough to get the job done. In my opinion, with his quickness and technique he looks like an ideal end in a 3-4 defense. He’s further aided by the fact that he wrestles and understands leverage and the importance of a strong base. He also plays basketball and helps train his feet for quickness and lateral mobility.
Accolades and honors: A well-traveled and tested youth athlete, he’s been selected to play in the prestigious Carolina Bowl and the CCE (Catch Cover Elite) Game in Texas.
Quote: “I’ve been to two Under Armour camps and I’m very blessed to be selected for the UA Next Game. I’d tell other athletes that if they want to become the next player to be noticed, they have to continue to work through the ups and downs.”
