The Bombers of Midwest City suffered a tough setback this past Friday, as second quarter miscues buried their chances at beat rivals Del City. Struggles in the second quarter aside, there were a handful of Midwest City players that caught our eye. Here’s a look a standout group of Bombers from the game.
Bryson Spriggs – 2023, Running Back
It’s a tall task to run against the physical Del City front seven. Spriggs was up to the challenge as he fought all night. He showed a good combination of power and savviness on his third quarter touchdown run. Not only did he keep his feet moving to have momentum while being tackled, he was able to reach the ball across the goalline while laying on top of the defender to secure the touchdown.
Juwan Dancy – 2022, Defensive Back
The senior defensive back was often the solo deep safety. From the position he was required to cover a lot of ground against any deep passes to Del City’s speedy receivers. He showed good recovery speed when he was able to break up a third quarter pass intended for Kanijal Thomas Kanijal Thomas 6'1" | DB Del City | 2023 State OK . To go along with that PBU, he was willing to mix it up with strong low tackles on the bruising Jayson Smith Jayson Smith 6'2" | LB Del City | 2022 State OK . Which was the smart play, as he had multiple good tackles where he chopped down the tree.
Dylan Sebok – 2022 Defensive End
Maintaining the edge against a team like Del City is crucial on defense, the senior was tasked with that. He did a good job of bottling up Del City ball carries, often racking up tackles even with one arm. Sebok is a high motor player that also showed good instincts to run down ball carries from the backside of the play.
Jazen Brown-Rosado – 2022, Defensive Back
The senior defensive back was one of the smaller players on the field, but his heart was one of the biggest. He showed no fear flying in tackle bigger opposition all night. Along with having good pursuit angles to corral the opposition.
